J Micheal Tatum has a British accent. That alone makes this anime one of my favourites. However, if I were to look at other factors I would say that the witty humour, the bad ass epilgoues and general kickass nature of Sebastian the demon also helped.

My only issue with this anime would be that it is slightly unclear near the end as to the background of Ciel and that sometimes Sebastian deals with things with a little too much ease. I'm not saying I want to see him bleeding in pieces (although that did nearly happen once) but a little bit more of a struggle on his part would be nice. Especially when he is dealing with demon dogs. But then we did see him break a sweat when fighting a frisky red head (Grell. Just, watch it for Grell.) and we saw him tied up, bloody, so I'm not too irritated by his invincibility.

Another thing I love about this show is it OVAs particularly the Behind the Scenes. If you do watch this anime watch that OVA it is hilarious.

All in all it is a great anime with plenty of punch and with dark themes. Not one to watch if you are looking for something light but definitley one you should checkout. It's fantastic.

I love the first season of Black Butler. In order to truly enjoy this show, you must ignore the fandom surrounding it. If you do not avoid it, the show will be spoiled for you. After rewatching it five years later, this season never ceases to amaze me. Every episode has a purpose that leads up to a climatic ending. Every character has a purpose in the ending of the season and the details of the show are carefully thought out. My only complaint would be development of the main villians of the season instead of a few shorter clips in the last few episodes. The animation is fitting for the time period and subject as well as remarkably beautiful. The set design is beautiful and gives you true Victorian era along with the clothing the characters are dressed in. I've watched it in sub and dub (I prefer the dub version of this) and the voices for these characters are spectacular. Every voice fits and makes sense for each character. I also love the iconic line "I am simply one hell of a butler", although I am biased for J. Michael Tatum. I also love the song 'Monochrome Kiss' and the deliberate use of the Lacrimosa for the second half of the season (insanely fitting song coming from someone that studies music and music history)The characters are incredibly fitting, however, I do with there was more development in the side characters such as the servents (specifically Tanaka) before the end of the season. I also wish that Lizzie had a little more development since she is perceived to be an annoying brat when she really has not been developed to her fullest potential. I let this slide though because any more tampering with development would be difficult with pacing and connections throughout the series. Overall, spectacular show. While I don't consider it to be in my top ten, it is a show I hold dear to my heart and praise on how the story weaves together.

It's one of my favorite animes!!! I never really saw any storyline but it's an fantastic anime! It is the perfect anime for our Sherlock Holmes lovers out there(I don't know why but it just gave me the same vibe). It take place in one of my favorite era's but add a bit of fantasy. The Characters are very memorable and amazingly well written. The designs are magical from the background scenery to the character designs! This is one of the few anime's where i didn't skip the intro. This is overall a Perfect anime for beginners and more advanced watchers!

A butler is commonly defined as a male servant who takes charge of providing service to his master and keeping everything proper and organized in the household. Yana Toboso presents a devious twist to the meaning of a Butler, giving the audience one hell of a good show. Excuse the pun.
