I hate animes that make male characters look and act like women. I also hate when the main character is some flimsy, shaky, stuttering weird person who can't can't express his thoughts normally. This type of anime is usually reserved to be seen and made for young boys, but this story line is so played out that it's painful to watch when it's done poorly. If you have absolutely nothing else to do with your life go ahead and watch this but if the first episode is any indication of how the rest of the season will be I'll stop here.

I assume you were talking about Emile when you mentioned male characters looking like women. Anime is somewhat known for messing with genders and peoples heads, but this isn't one of those times. Emile looks and acts like a girl because Emile is a girl, which if you watched the third episode, you would see proof. However, it's kind of obvious he is a she from the first episode, hec, the first entrance of her character. Emile was pretending to be a male to meet the main character. I admit it wouldn't be the first time an anime had a character that most people would swear up and down was one gender when the character was actually the other gender, but the setup at the beginning is a big hint in this case.

Also, the main character isn't a stuttering flimsy person. He stutters in the first episode...I imagine many people would when put in that position. I would say he was acting pretty normal in that situation, however, the audience knows what is going on and what he wants to say, so to the audience, it can be irritating. The audience isn't under the pressure or stress of the situation so it's far easier to say that he was just a flimsy idiot who can't speak up..but in reality, it's a pretty normal reaction and many of us would likely respond simillarly to those events.

Still, I agree, it is quite the played out story line. It's basically Infinate Stratos, Quadelia Code, Rakudai or any other school plus fighting plus a bit of romance or harem anime.
