Summer Wars present a weird example of how even doing everything seemingly right, project can still be a generic and forgettable.

Nothing is really bad about it, but then again nothing is really good. Animation is very decent, but just so bland and not interesting, with no particular style or souce to it.
Story is again, seemingly original and competent, but tedious and gray. You're not invested in any characters and don't really care any way or another about conflict or resolution. Watching the movie through all it's length the only desire I had was to finish it and go on with my tasks.

In conclusion - it's definitely a worth checking project of you're not really into anime or manga and/or your standards aren't really hight. Don't expect much and maybe you'll enjoy your time with it.
