Shiroi Majo - Reviews

As a Finn I feel both flattered and confused. So Japan needed to add the legendary "White Death" into the list of gender-bender waifus? It must be really awkward for the living relatives of Simo Häyhä to know this manga exist (maybe they don't know, who knows). Or to Aarne Juutilainen's relatives. In their case it is even more hilarious, as "The Terror of Morocco" is a a gankuro lady with really anime-looking hair and a scar. 

Story:

This feels like a fanfiction. An RPF where the Karelian blue-haired shounen protagonist (that sounds like a weird bird species) is some sort of self-insert character. It tells the story of Winter War. In the weirdest way possible. Also we have a sequel for the Continuation War. What do you mean Simo Häyhä didn't take part into that war? Nah, we go with fix-it logics and The White Death makes a comeback with an epic scar (in real life, his whole jaw bone blow up and needed to be replaced with a prothesis).

Art:

Well, the main characters and other important characters suffer from "the protagonist syndrome" where you can clearly tell which characters are going to be important. The rest of the soldiers look like clones.

Characters:

Look at the "Art" part of the review. And I am almost sure the mangaka has watched or played Fate/Stay night. Just look at the design of Häyhä.

Overall:

Welp, as a Finn I guess I can't complain too much, it's always nice to see people being interested in Finland.

I'm a Winter War buff and I prefer female characters to male ones, so this manga was incredible for me. Keep in mind the main character is annoying, but he disappears pretty early into the story.
