This is my first time writing a review and i'm also brazilian, so my english is ridiculous, sorry.

Ok, here we go...

It's a story with a good plot. In the context, everything is well defined and, in general, i like it. However, there is something that bothered me a lot, which for me is too absurd to pass up. The fact that the character Kan-chan (violent boyfriend) was "cleared" of all the grotesque violence he did. I mean

------ SPOILER -----

the guy beat his boyfriend (Yumi) until he bled, left him full of bruises, even put out a cigarette on his back during sex (which even happened while Yumi's nose was bleeding after Kan- chan punched him) and, in the end, he basically accused Yumi (>>> THE VICTIM <<<) of being the one to blame for being like that, and still has the nerve to say: "let's finish why I don't want to be worse than that ". It's like, ???????? That son of a bitch had to, at the very least, take a group beating in a dark alley. I'm not satisfied with how the author left him unpunished and unharmed, and not only that, but also later made a comic for him ... He victimized the aggressor, and for me this is unacceptable and, frankly, revolting.
And another thing that also bothered me: The fact that Yumi - after EVERYTHING HAPPENED - in the end didn't treat Mayama as he really deserves (my opinion).

But still, in general, it's not a bad story, but I couldn't pass up something that completely took me out of my mind.
It may even be an exaggeration for some, but it was something that really took me away from the pleasure of reading the rest of the comic. It really pissed me off. Be it man or woman, it does not justify acceptance. And the victim is never to blame, damn it! So that’s why I didn’t give the story a rating anymore.

I think you need to read the prequels and sequels to better understand the characters. This story contains abuse and may not be totally realistic, but after reading the entire series, I was satisfied with the execution. The only thing is that I would like to have more history of the first couple.

Multi-work series; Suggested reading order:

1: Sabita Yoru Demo Koi wa Sasayaku - Main Story

2: Azami - Prequel to Main Story & Sequels

3: Renai Rubi no Tadashii Furikata - Sequel #1

4: Narrow Place Collection - Side story to Sequel #1

5: Hadakeru Kaibutsu - Sequel #2

6: Sweet Sweet - Extra Illustrations

This is just the beginning of much larger story. If you read the spin-off, presequel and the sequel, then you will understand more of the characters feelings and what's going on.

The character development was just amazing, the story might sound like it's nothing special but no, this is a serious one. This tells a story of a 'pure, toxic love'. There is violance, and you get to learn how this all started.

The art, of course, this is one of Tanaka Ogeretsu's manga so it's good as the rest.

The characters are really annoying at times the only character that I ended up liking the whole time was Yumi despite the bias he was also the main issue. When I came into this I was hoping to see an realasitc protrayal of abuse but I didn't get any of that. Like at all. Kan-Chan shouldn't be readem I could care less about his prequal. The fact that he told Yumi to leave makes me hate him even more. Like okay i'm sorry being an abuser was too much for you. Then Yumi doesn't even try to leave the situation himself. He refuses to help himself and waits for things to happen for him but claims he's not a "Maiden" like yes you clearly are. I'm not saying that Yumi can't be weak and not know how to get help. The thing is he just doens't seem like he is even affected by the abuse. The only time anything seem to affect him was with Mayama. I even really thought about how he could have felt about it I've been putting small pieces together but all thoes are just assumptions not confirmed in the story. How the main character feels about abuse isn't clearly explained in a story about abuse. Mayama is like the only sane one throughtout the whole story. Everything he does makes sense up until the fatel phone call but then that mostly on Yumi too. I can't see how this is supposed to be good when all I see is a story telling people if your getting abused don't do anything and maybe one day you'll be freed. And maybe this isn't suppose to inspire people but the deep focus on abuse seems like it. Not to mention the rush they did to get Mayama and Yumi together at the end just for a sex scene. It's like the abuse didn't matter when you wanted to draw cute boys doing stuff. I gave it a 3 because the art is amazing and it was an radnom read for me it made me think about what makes a good story about abuse and I don't think this is it. I think it tries but at times it priotize things like showing the abuse, redemption and romance over the actual affects abuse cause. I don't think all of that would have been too hard to protray.
