I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT. This series invalidates everything that we've gone through, by putting a tidy little bow on it and having a big strong man come in and fix it.

This should come as obvious, but there are going to be mentions of rape and some spoilers in this review.

My main issue is with the story. Everyone and their mom is doing a "modern retelling" of Greek mythology, and they forget that these "characters" developed in the mythos of a much different culture with different values, and on top of that, they throw each and every character into a stereotypical archetype. Example: Zeus is a regular playboy Hugh Hefner, Hades is tall, dark, and brooding like every romantic interest in the movies as of late, and Persephone is just an innocent little bean.

The worst offense is that like so many webcomics have done recently, the author made the choice to center the young and naive female lead's character development completely around being raped. As if being raped somehow equates to becoming a woman as quickly and dramatically as possible. It's a disgusting and lazy trope that needs to die.

Additionally, the author is completely unfaithful to the original myths and lore of the Greek dieties. They're only alike in name and "status", but otherwise have nothing in common with their namesake. And to make matters worse, the art gets old really quickly, as each character is monochromatic. It's a nice stark contrast for a title page or a cover, but all the way through a series? Real boring, real fast.

TLDR: Disgusting, unoriginal, and unfaithful to the tales.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this comic. It's so sweet and the author really puts in time and thought into the characters. It's almost like the gods and goddesses are real, which is huge for the story. It's cute and dangerous and is good for both male and females alike. Despite being romance, it has it's funny and action moments which I appreciate. I love that the characters are flawed and we get to see that. The side stories are fantastic as well. My only complaint is that the author/illustrator takes many chapters off or cuts them short for personal reasons, but not too much. 10/10 great job!

This is one of my favorites webtoons/manga/manhwa but I know that has a lot of sensitive topics, so it's not for everyone.

I think the art is amazing and different at first is a little bit weird but after a while, you will fall in love with it.

The story and the characters are inspired by Greek mythology but they're not in any shape or form exactly like them because all of it is a hyperbolic symbol of them mixed with nowadays themes and people.

At first, I saw the webtoon on youtube with voice acting I think they did an amazing job, and after I read everything because I couldn't wait ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZVI7HoRrX0abxm2Bg84Lgw this is the youtube channel)

All of the characters have a lot of problems, so they have a weak and a strong side that could be relatable for a lot of people.

The story is focused on the love story of Persephone and hades, but you will get a lot of side stories, they are just the cutest ever and they grow together and understand that the other is the part that their life needs it.

If you can be mentally prepared for what's coming (especially the rage and pain of some things that will be warned in the beginning of the chapters ) I will recommend it a lot :)

I really like this web series. I feel it's done really well. Personally, I feel it handles trauma and abuse very well. I do not think the entire story centers around it, but instead, it shows how someone struggles with and recovers from trauma and can build meaningful relationships despite it. I like how it adds in that sometimes your friends are friends with your abuser and how difficult that can be. It does a very good job expressing every character's feelings, emotions, and background in a nuanced manner. However, I do feel the characters are too flat. Each fits into a stereotypical role in the story are almost never breaks free from it. They have the same qualities from start to finish and that can be a little boring. There is no character development and they don't change much. I love the art I think it is very well done and I like how the author chooses to have the characters one color, it's quite fun and interesting. I think she does a good job with it. I would like to see some more variation in body types, that is starkly missing from this webtoon.

Side note: Why is this on anime planet? It is not a manga.
