Story: This story is about a boy who commits suicide but fails. He then signs a contract and is sent to an island filled with other suicidal people. The story moves along well and is very realistic. There are mysteries and action scenes throughout. I really enjoy the survival aspect of it. The survival on its own is good, but it becomes much more interesting because it involves suicidal people. Watching a group of people who have already tried to kill themselves find the will to survive and the meaning of their life is very interesting. It is sometimes the little things that keep us going, or even the beauty of nature.

Art: The art at first is hard to get used to. The characters just look... awkward and wierd. Once you get used to that style though it is all good. Nothing spectacular, but I am always fully aware of what is going on.

Characters: They are interesting because the majority of them are suicidal people. Death is definitely a part of this manga. The main character Sei is really cool. He starts off weak and useless and pursues meaning in his life. His thoughts are very intriguing. In the same way that smokers find a common bond with other smokers, Sei finds bonds through attempted suicides when seeing someone with slit wrists for example.

Overall: I really enjoy this manga because I love survivals and suicidal people surviving is a great and interesting plot. I wish they realeased more chapters in English because it looks like a bunch of them are just not translated. I am always checking back to see if this manga has any updates which I believe speaks to its ability to keep readers interested. If you like survival stuff you should definitly give it a go, and it you are looking for something realistic that you will not find anywhere else this might also be for you. Go ahead, give it a read. I dare you.

A pleasant read, perhaps in some points they were not exactly clear, but it is certainly an experience that gives many emotions

The plot is actually very simple, what this manga focuses on is not a complex story but an introspection on the characters and on survival by listing many concepts and themes that lead you to grow together with the characters as the narrative progresses, I found many philosophical messages on human nature and its behavior in situations of danger that were really well developed, but some flaws are the fact that the story leaves some things unresolved such as the Government abandoning these people to their fate, I found a It's a shame not to dedicate space to this subplot which could have had some very interesting implications (perhaps with them going to Japan and showing the world how the government abandoned them instead of helping them when they needed it) or that many mysteries about the story are never revealed thoroughly researched…

I think the characters are the best thing about the show starting from the well-characterized protagonist with a well-constructed evolution to many other multifaceted characters that lead you to empathize with them after seeing their path and their past lives up to the antagonists who although a forced bits made things very interesting

The drawings are fantastic, they fully show the cruelty of the island and the reactions of the characters as the story must present them to you

Ultimately if you are looking for a story that talks about strong themes such as suicide, survival, psychology, etc... this manga is for you

The story was not bad but it was not good either. There is nothing really wrong with it but after a while it starts to drag a little bit here and there. Also the constant whining of the MC and the people around him gets on your nevers after a while. The pace would improve a lot if this was around 10 volumes only.

It had an excellent premise and was very interesting, but then it had to go and start promoting mental illness.
