Gamaran and Veritas are both fast paced, martial arts manga. The main similarity in these mangas are that Gangryong and Gama want to be the best.  They both go up against opponents everyone thinks they cant beat just to enhance there martial arts. Gama enters a competition where he owns everyone and moves up in skill.  Gangryong enters a school where he beats people and eventually develops his power on par with other high members.  Action packed martial arts manga, it couldn't get much better.

The Breaker

The Breaker

The Breaker and Gamaran involve boys who want to be much stronger in the martial arts. Both Shin-woo and Gama are laid back kids who leave their old life and enter a bigger world. They are willing to take on any challenge in order to gain respect and strength.  With some comedy in both mangas, one feels these manga are side by side in action and kick butt awesomeness.  With mass potential and interesting characters, I often ask myself why people haven't read these yet.

Rurouni Kenshin

Rurouni Kenshin

Rurouni Kenshin is the story of a revolutionary patriot fighting to conceal his bloody past in the new Meiji era of Japan. Battosai Himura's role in the revolution was so infamous that it earned him the title ‘Hitokiri' (Manslayer). To put that fearful name and his past behind him, Himura returned to his original name of Kenshin, reversing the blade on his sword to make it non-lethal, swearing to never take another life and beginning again as an ordinary rurouni (wandering samurai). He meets Kaoru Kamiya, a spirited girl who runs the local dojo and is the first of several friends to accept him for who he is, not who he was. But Kenshin's past will not leave him alone, and with old rivals remerging, groups attempting to shatter the hard earned peace, and those with desire to face the legendary Battousai, all chasing after Kenshin, can he protect those he cares about and still maintain his oath?

Both titles are incredibly epic.  Both involve samurai sword fights and nobleness.  While Gamaran is more focused on the fight techniques, Kenshin is more about the relationships that develop between its characters.  Both are an incredible read.

Both deal with sword fighting.  Burning Hell incredibly short but also a very amusing read.  They both contain epic fight scenes (while Gamaran's are much more 'beautiful', BH's are very, very intense).  If you like one, you'd definitely like the other.  Not to mention, both have dry humour.

Asagiro: Asagi Ookami

Asagiro: Asagi Ookami

A twelve year old boy from a lesser known school of swordsmanship is known to be an outstanding prodigy. A demonstration match with wooden swords is arranged for the local lord, and an instructor from a nearby school is called to be his opponent. The instructor, not taking the boy seriously at first, learns quickly that he should not take the boy for granted. Both of them settle into a serious fight with their pride as warriors on the line. The match is hard fought, but finally the boy wins, and sets in motion a cascade of unforeseen consequences.

Samurai Champloo

Samurai Champloo

Mugen is a rough-around-the-edges mercenary with a killer technique and nothing left to lose. Jin is a disciplined samurai who's as deadly as he is reserved. Fuu is a young waitress with a good heart and a resourcefulness that emerges when you least expect it. These three unlikely companions are about to begin a journey that will change all of their lives. It's a dangerous quest for a mysterious samurai that will see our squabbling group of heroes get into and out of trouble more times than they can count (which admittedly, isn't very high). From the cynical gentility of the nobles to the backstabbing of the Japanese underworld, Mugen, Jin and Fuu will face threats from without and within as they hurl insults and throwing stars alike. Ancient Japan is about to get a lethal dose of street justice—Champloo style. And it will never be the same.

Zanbara!

Zanbara!

Ichiyo and Akehiko (both 15 years old) have been brought up in an amicable environment at a prosperous restaurant in Japan. They live a safe, happy life, but, as was the norm in feudal Japan, they train at the local dojo with determination to become strong. The times are turbulent, and violence brims the streets of nineteenth century Japan. Under such conditions, the boys will have to learn what it means to wield a sword, to take someone’s life, and to understand the precarious life of living by the sword.
