MUST READ. I'M TELLING YOU TO READ THIS. This webtoon is a mixture of horror and mystery and also super underrated. i don't usually read that genre, infact I have NEVER read this genre. However, this completely blew my mind. From the plot twists at every corner to the little details of each character. This webtoon felt so kdrama worthy ngl. The later chapters felt so shocking. Literally JAW DROPPING.

This is a must read! Truly addicting! The moment I started reading, it never left my mind. The story is really interesting and keeps throwing facts here and there which makes it so confusing to tell who's the real suspect. The problem with knowing the suspect is that no conclusive evidence is found yet. That is, not enough to call them the real suspect.

Warning: May contain spoilers

Story:

The story is really interesting and the plot seems as if it's full of secrets. One might even start to wonder if it's all done by some supernatural force after all. It's not only the case which makes the plot so interesting but also the fact that the detectives working on the case also have their own stories to tell. All in all, though it keeps you guessing about who's the suspect, it doesn't get boring.

Art:

The art is also awesome and plays a big role. The way the situation is depicted makes us feel connected to the plot and the way it shows the flashbacks of the time when they were trapped makes me feel all the emotions they must be feeling. The strange feeling of the case makes it quite scary and creepy but still addicting to the point I keep thinking about who might it be who did all this. The art depicts everything so perfectly, it feels like it actually happened.

Characters:

In this plot, it's not only the victims/suspects who are the focus of the plot but also the advisory doctor and the detectives have their own backstories. Along with the victim's lives, the other detectives and the doctor's lives are also shown.

Overall, it's just great. A few good points are that the plot stays interesting, it's easy to connect with the plot, the situation is shown in a way which makes us feel the emotions of the characters easily, etc. A few bad points are that of course the suspect isn't found yet so it can get frustrating just wanting to know who it was, it feels kinda bad that the good and the rational guy and two of the nice girls died, etc.

I've been really enjoying reading this so far! I've seen some people say that it's slow and maybe that's because, just like in real life investigations, results aren't fast. It just felt like I was witnessing an investigation in real time and one thing I really enjoy about this story is how realistic the author makes things feel. Like they are very knowledgable about many things that help add to the story.

I will say though, with how much I'm genuinely enjoying reading along, getting to the later chapters made me very disappointed. The OUTCOME basically is disappointing to me. MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW

I dislike that they pulled the stupid "these two people are secret siblings!!" trope and just the fact of this intense story being the cause of mental illness is just... so exhausting. Why couldn't the doctor lady who previously experienced her own tragedy be JUST THAT. Why did she have to be the sibling of the murderer in this instance? She could've just solved the case by relating to her own experiences. It just feels very unnecessary and makes mentally ill people in this world seem so violent.

Chasing Tails is a great story, especially for people who wants to try reading horror-mystery story for the first time. The story starts with the usual mystery setting and gradually expose secrets as you move on to the next chapter. If you want to try guessing "which of them did it?" or "how did it happen in the first place?" without getting lost to plot but still providing an of mystery, then this is for you.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Story: The story is interesting, and while some people may find the "mental illness as causes despicable act" a form of lazy writing, I understand the reason why the author use it. Plus, it shows some cases that may or may not be seen in the real world (I haven't researched).

Characters: The characters are realistic. They are not unbearably bland and they really showed how an average person would act if they were put in that situation. I love how the author showed as what happened to them and their lives years after they are out in that trapped building.

Art: The art made me hesitate to read it at first, but the more you read the story, the more.you.realize how the drawing perfectly gives you the creep and the overall "there's something off about this" vibes.
