I hate him at first but after look at how he's actually using strategy to defeat the enemy I can't stop liking him and the only scene make me cry is his dead 😭😭
I honestly went from hating him, to understanding him, to empathizing with him. Probably the most complex character and the best foil for Thorfinn possible. Thorfinn's character seems static throughout with the layers of Lucius' ambitions slowly being peeled along with his enigmatic exterior. I haven't changed my mind about a character so strongly since Jaime Lannister from ASoIF, teaching me just as Lucius states to Thorfinn, "you never learn". In the end his character is quite literally the embodiment of "the Past" (both as a remnant of Roman antiquity by lineage/allegience, and literally in Thorfinn's life, which Thorfinn needs to let go). Ultimately a masterclass of what becomes of a hate-filled individual for Thorfinn, and a walking tragedy. I suspect the only person to die a "clean" death in the whole series to be Thors if Thorfinn doesn't learn from Lucius' fate. Time to read the manga to see where things go from here.
