The ending of th emovie made me cry a little. This story is a tragic-love story, but it differs from others because even though it's tragic, it makes you feel happy at some point in sadness.

The movie was short, yet it showed a beautiful love story. What I also like about this movie is how its a fiction/fantasy. Yokai are presented which makes me happy as well. In addition, the movie shows different views and opinions about two races (Humans and Yokai) which is great.

I give this movies a whole 10 and if you are someone who is bored and doesn't know what to watch, I recommend this movie for a change.

The story's buildup was kind of long, and the ending was too short, and after Gin disappeared, she cried for a good 5 seconds, and boom, movie is over, she does not give any more fucks....

And tbh, after all the good reviews, I was excited to watch it, thought the story sounded really cute, but it was so poorly written, it felt off and creepy.

Some parts of the writing and animation were, to say the least, unsettling, because, Remember: Gin is portrayed as a grown adult man, meeting with a little girl year upon year upon year, and she is portrayed very innocent and naive, which of course a six-year-old is, but some scenes were fetishising EXACTLY that...

I really wouldn't recommend this anime, it feels kind of predatory, and is overall just a bad story. It could have been good, with better writing, but this is just straight up creepy.

My anime reviews are always simple, short and straight-forward and is 100% spoilers-free.

Genres: Drama, Romance, Shoujo, Supernatural

Additional Info: It'll build up the feels then crush it to pieces with a 1 ton elephant.

Ending Rating: 88%

Short Review:

Get ready to jerk your tears. Get your tissues and sulk yourself in this sad dramatic anime. The romance part wasn't focus on alot so not much are to be expected from it. This will slowly build up your emotion then crush it with brute force. You've been warned.

ngl it was pretty good. i didn't cry at all though, mainly because i also watched Your Name and I Want To Eat Your Pancreas in the same night of watching this so i feel emotionless right now after balling my eyes out 2 times in a row. It was good and cute story but I feel like this would've been much more enjoyable and emotional if it was a series. just my opinion because his death seemed rushed, it all happend so suddenly and you cry when theres a lot of background info. i teared up because of the years she spent with him but that's it.

The ending made me choke. This anime is a piece of art in terms of its simplicity. The ending was upsetting but there couldn't be an ending more beautiful than this. They hugged each other with a smile and she lived on knowing that she fulfilled Gin's one and only wish he ever had. The subtle romance was wonderful. Nothing was spoken but all of it was still conveyed beautifully.
Animation was good I think, not too flashy not too unrealistically bright. Loved Gin's eyes the most.
Sound was pretty good and as good as real.
Characters were wonderful too!
Won't say much, all in all, a beautiful anime that lifted my spirits on a bad day.
