Hotarubi no Mori e - Reviews

The ending made me choke. This anime is a piece of art in terms of its simplicity. The ending was upsetting but there couldn't be an ending more beautiful than this. They hugged each other with a smile and she lived on knowing that she fulfilled Gin's one and only wish he ever had. The subtle romance was wonderful. Nothing was spoken but all of it was still conveyed beautifully.
Animation was good I think, not too flashy not too unrealistically bright. Loved Gin's eyes the most.
Sound was pretty good and as good as real.
Characters were wonderful too!
Won't say much, all in all, a beautiful anime that lifted my spirits on a bad day.

Short, bittersweet and beautiful.

Although the beginning may seem boring to some, the tension and emotions are getting stronger/build up while the movie passes by. The characters are just lovely and let you think that this is some cute normal anime, so that the end really gets to you. It has a great turning point and I just love the story, because it is so thoughtthrough. Sadly it is so short tho. Be prepared for crying and intensifiying feels

It's short anime movie. It's pretty awesome that in only 40 minutes you actually can meet the characters and better know they story.

I thought story would have happy ending but... it's seems like story isn't finished yet. I wish there is part 2, bc i really want to see Gin and Hotaru together.

WHY DID IT NEED TO END LIKE THAT?????? 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I THOUGHT THIS WOULD HAVE A HAPPY ENDING BUT INSTEAD IT HAD TO END WITH HER JUST MOVING ON????
