Given - Reviews

I really don't like Given or Mafuyu, though I did at the start. It's mainly due to his relationship to Yuki, Uenoyama, and Hiiragi. He knew Yuki practically all of his life, and then fell in love with him. They got into a fight, and Mafuyu inadvertently drove Yuki to suicide. We didn't hear all of it, but he obviously said things that made Yuki think their relationship was permanently over, even beyond just the 'Would you die for me' thing. This only happened less than a year ago, but despite that, even while still apparently grieving, he moves on to someone else. As far as I'm concerned, that's a disgusting betrayal, and not something someone in his position should even be capable of. It should cause instense shame to even consider it. As well, he accepts Hiiragi's apology to him, and doesn't apologize himself, despite him obviously being the reason that Yuki is dead in the first place.

It all honestly makes me sick, literally, I felt physically unwell thinking about this. To know someone that long, love him, share all of those firsts together, be the reason he gives up on life and kills himself, then get with someone else in less than a year. I can't get past it, and don't feel like watching or reading any more. If I were Yuki I'd turn into one of those Japanese revenge ghosts and haunt him. There is clearly something wrong with his head that goes beond issues expressing himself. I'm annoyed I've seen literally no one else who felt this way, so I wanted to throw this out there. Love should mean more than it does in this show. 

Given is so good that if you are a Yaoi lover like me then you need to watch it! It is a beautiful series! <3

it was great i loved every single part about this except i wish it was a little longer, just so we could see more of how the characters develop and how the plot moves on.

I may of been forced to watch this, and I was expecting it to be bad but honestly this is the cutest bl Ive ever seen, its more wholesome among other things, and I did infact cry, tbh honest I though I would cried more.. It a short little 11 episodes long, couldve watcheed it in one sitting and was always something going on, even if its now life changing, would recommend..

So... Given means two things: 'A given love, bond, friendship'. And other, the name of their band. At first, when I saw romance in the genres, I was hesitant and really stressed out; whether to watch or not. I was literally tired of seeing two love birds kissing here and there at EVERY scene. BUT after watching the first 3 episodes, I really fell in LOVE with Given. Man, one of the saddest BL, after hitorijime, spiritpact, I have seen. That was so. tragic. Love it. really. Guys, you need to watch it. I loved the opening theme. it was rocking best. Love you, Given. hope season 2 comes early ^v^

Soooo, I really went for the Akihiko and Ugetsu ship. really. Aw man, it was so sad. No, I was actually TROUBLING with it. whether to ship aki with that kawaii kawaii, Haruki OR that super cute black beauty (not what ur thinking. lol) Ugetsu. SOooo, let's see what is the real ship, IN THE MOVIE!!
