Targeted by net-jackers, Eiji does his best to survive; but is this a test, or a game of life and death? And why do images of the AI EVE keep appearing on his screen?

Shogo was an average teenager who worked at McDonalds, drove a motorcycle and hung out with his friends – until one day, his friend Shingi showed off a prototype motorcycle called 'Garland' and was killed by secret agents attempting to steal it for themselves. Shogo escaped with the bike and his life. The next day, there is no indication that this ever happened. Shingi is reported as overseas for special training; but secret agents are staking out Shogo's apartment and are still hunting him down! Eventually the conflict comes to a head and Shogo discovers that Garland is able to transform into a giant robot – how can this be? With these new developments, Shogo must discover the purpose of the conspiracy and the secret world around him.

The Invid, the arch-enemies of the defeated Robotech masters drawn by the proto-culture left in the SDF-1, have invaded Earth and taken full control, and the entire world has been occupied. Humanity has either been killed off, enslaved or left to drift. This is the sad setting Lieutenant Commander Scott Bernard finds himself in when he, together with the others of the Mars base, returns to Earth. The Mars forces try to retake the planet, but are no match for the Invid, leaving Scott as the only survivor. In an attempt to continue the fight, Scott starts to assemble a band of freedom fighters, and fights the Invid wherever he can. All of this in the hope that one day, Earth can be retaken.

Half of a year has passed since the Megazone and the Dezalg declared war against each other. The Megazone's military is fighting a constantly losing battle, as the Dezalg's weapon technology is fifty years more advanced than their own, allowing the Dezalg to gain more ground every day. Meanwhile, Shogo has hidden the Garland and has tried to resume a 'normal' life, which consists of leading a motorcycle gang in rebellion against the government. This all ends when a remnant of the AI EVE attempts to contact him. With Shogo's help, EVE might be able to enact a protection program that will save some of Megazone's inhabitants from the Dezalg. Can Shogo recover the Garland and reach EVE before it is too late?
