So, the protagonist Maika needs a job and, as the plot wants, finds the job. She starts working in a café, where she has to work as a waitress. But it is not an ordinary café. In this each employee has his own role, which he has to indulge in. The roles are distributed from "Little Sister, Tsundere, to Sadistin and Big Sister". The protagonist is shown the role of the sadist because of her already evil look and her illogical urge for sadism.

All right, it sounds bizarre, whatever it was. However, the anime had too many similarities to the similar title "Working" and I could only see everything that was done right there and what failed here.

The characters were a colorful bunch, but more than for comedy purposes they were of no use, their personalities and their character, was too dull to be able to develop in the work in any way, especially that of the protagonist.

As said, she was given the role of the sadist. In my opinion, this was anything but true to the definition.

[Sadism is when a person experiences sexual pleasure or satisfaction by humiliating, hurting, or humiliating other people.]. It wasn't like that with her. She was a really nice girl who jumped at the good bad guys as soon as she got nervous.

However, I can never let that go through in my life as sadism, which made the whole thing seem strange to me from the beginning when the speeches about their sadistic side were swung.

Anyway, this work was mainly focused on the comedy and slice_of_Life genre. There is no further selection anyway.
It was not a world achievement, but the implementation can be seen in between. Even though the restaurant was almost never the focus of the work, which makes it difficult to rate it as a café anime. Anyway.

Genre:

Comedy: The humor was pretty weak. It was there, but only a few gags could really prove themselves, the rest consisted of spontaneous shouting and over-reacted situations, which are usually less amusing. [+]
Romance: Ah .. the romance was partly present. But it was presented like a gag, which makes it difficult to take it seriously. Therefore here neutral point. []
Slice_of_Life: Well, despite the short episodes, enough characters have been dealt with enough regarding their normal lives. At least on most, not all. [+]

Story:

Would ever argue that there would be none here, if that were what it is.

Yes, this work had no action, no goal, nothing at all. It was a simple comedy flick that only showed everyday life. Therefore, I completely drop Story to 0. This is not supposed to mean anything.

Animation / pictures:

The animations .. were average, so neither good nor bad. They were fluid, bright and cheerful in the background. Most of the background was given in yellow tones.

What irritated me, however, was the good animation from the last episode. Since the anime actually made a "significant" increase in quality.

Characters:

The characters weren't exactly likeable, but they weren't disagreeable either. They were just .. ok. There were different characters that ticked in their own way. On a positive note, there were no real "-Your" types like "Tsundere" characters and etc.

The problem, however, was that it was difficult to take the female protagonist seriously, because she only looked like a funny character, just like the boss. The supporting characters looked much more serious than this. Although, secondary characters are not affected here, they were rather main characters.

In any case, there could have been done more, especially on the part of the protagonist. But well, I didn't think it was bad.

For a comedy, satisfactory characters.

Music:

The music ... well, the ending is total average. The intro too.

The Osts are actually quite weak, to be expected from such a work, but remain weak.

Overall, I have to say the anime was just "Ok". I've seen much better titles in this genre. Blend S was not bad, it corresponded to the "average" as it is in the book. It had a calm atmosphere, was colorful, made one or two laugh. Was able to entertain me normally.

You can watch it , if you have enough free time.

the concept was nice, they failed to deliver. It was flat. That's all. Like the come you have but its without any fizz...that's the feeling...

Blend S is a little unassuming at first, and I'll be the first person to say that. I mean, the only reason I watched it back in 2020 is that I had seen the memes of the opening, most notably Blend W. I was very, very pleasantly surprised by how good it was even without the popular opening. For a slice-of-life anime, this checks all my boxes. The episodes are all fun to watch and so are the interactions between characters. I liked the idea of a cafe with employees who act like certain classic anime character types and especially thought that the type Maika performed was endearing to her character. I can confidently say that this was one of those animes that left me longing for more the second I finished it, and I was sad to realize there wasn't any more left. I highly recommend Blend S, especially if you are a slice-of-life enthusiast because ultimately, it's the little things that make existing enjoyable.

This was a great storyline, even if it was a little repetitive. It felt like a comfort anime and made me feel happy. EXCEPT THAT MAIKA ACTUALLY DOESNT KNOW WHAT LOVE IS OMG. I REALLY WANTED THEM TO GET TOGETHER

I didnt really like the first episode, but it kept getting better every episode.
Even if you think you dont like it after watching episode 1 you should still give it a try!
