Neither Gash Bell or Pokemon stray too far from the campy and light-hearted monster of the week formula.  Both shows feature a near instantaneous friendship between a lovable monster and a preteen boy, an inexplicable drive to be the best, and a slew of running gags meant to illicit a laugh.  Add in the comparable animation between the two shows, and it's hard to find a reason that one anime won't appeal to fans of the other.

Both "Hunter x Hunter" and "Pokemon" are about a fun-loving, good-hearted young man that sets out on a great adventure in search for action and the solution to a noble cause.  Along the way, both Ash (Pokemon) and Gon (Hunter x Hunter) make great friends that help teach us morals & lessons as they destroy the bad guys.  Both anime are full of action, adventure, and humor with lots of characters and creatures to learn about.

If you enjoy one, you'll definitely enjoy the other.

It's an almost laughable comparison from everyone's first thoughts (I'm assuming), but hear me out, both Sekirei and Pokemon share a lot of core similarities. Pikachu, like Musubi, is introduced to Ash/Minato Sahashi and in time develop a wholesome relationship. Also there's 108 Sekirei and the master can collect multiple sekirei. The Sekirei can then fight eachother and prove amongst themselves which is number one. Very similar, I assure you. Basically Sekirei is Pokemon for the more mature audience. If you liked one I'm sure you'll love the other.

Mushishi

Mushishi

It isn't unusual for a person to feel that the world around them is strange and has unexpected secrets lying just beyond their sight. However, for most people this is just an occasional sensation that greets them upon awakening or chases them into sleep. For the mushi researcher Ginko, it isn't a feeling at all; it is a knowledge which guides his travels and motivates his life. Found in the cracks between what is conceivable and what is not, are the varied life forms collectively known as mushi. They surround us and affect us, but their intensely different nature makes them unrecognizable to most. Ginko brings these life forms into perspective for the lives of those most affected and most in need of an explanation.

Seyfert Seyfert says...

Mushishi, if one is interested in vast philosophical questions, can be somewhat similar to Pokemon because it's about these mushi, which are like spiritual bugs, and the protagonist goes around managing them... other than that, though, it's more about dissolving conflicts than actual battling with the mushi or other characters. It's episodic too, so doesn't necessarily continue on with the same storyline as Pokemon, but still has the same atmosphere through the 50+ episodes. The music is really beautiful and appropriate too.

Persona 4 and pokemo are very similar but I personally think Persona is better. Not to get into persona a lot in case you take this recommendation to heart and watch persona, the main similarity is

1. Both have a visible story

2. Both have a main crew

3. Both have an anime mascot

4. Both have awesome.. Well I will just say "things" to fight with.

Now persona is more dark and mysterious than Pokemon, so you must like that if you're getting into persona. And there aren't a whole lot of "things" I will say again in persona. However it's still a good anime.

When I tried watching Monster Strike, the first that came to mind was how similar it was to Pokemon. Both are anime based on a video game, where youngsters fight by summoning monsters. They also both have a monster/mascot that's always by the side of the main character, even though normally it should be retracted into the device they're supposed to be summoned from. Apart from that, they both provide a very basic shounen-comedy-action plot.
