Ash and Naruto are both determined to make their dreams into reality, no matter what it takes. Both shows are full of battles, failures, hard-earned victories, and teamwork. If you've had enough of one cast for a while, switch over to the other show! There's enough episodes between the two of them to get you through both series without burning out. ;)

Loved the story line, and it was all the rage when i first started at University in 2009!!! Yes, all the university students inthe dormitory on my floor watched this religiously and I can understand why. Its also why I am now still hooked on Naruto: Shippuuden, just waiting for enough anime to be released so i cn mass download.

Medabots

Medabots

All young Ikki wants is to have his very own Medabot, but his parents insist that he purchase the machine with his own hard-earned money. Though he can't afford a top-of-the-line model, Ikki finds, by chance, a special medal in the river; with it, any Medabot will come to life and accept the commands of its owner. After a fellow classmate is bullied at school, Ikki rushes to buy an inferior model of Medabot and places his medal inside of it. While his new companion - which he dubs Metabee - is functional, there's one important problem: Metabee has a serious attitude problem and refuses to acknowledge Ikki's commands. Together, Ikki and Metabee will duel opponents such as the Rubberobo gang and local bullies while they prepare for an upcoming Robattle Tournament - but their worst opponents are each other! Will Ikki and Metabee stop arguing long enough to climb to the top?

In a strange way, medabots and pokemon share many similar qualities. First off, both have a main star with black hair, Ash in pokemon and Ikki in medabots. Both animes feature "fighting pets" pokemon and medabots. Ash has a favourite, pikachu and Ikki has metabee. Both Metabee and pikachu share similar personalities. They dont always listen to their masters but will fight to the death for they. In both animes the lead characters are striving to be world champions in there respective fields. I personally prefer Medabots but i enjoyed the original Pokemon very much!!

Both series tell a story of animals (if pokemon could be called like this...). They are also quite simmilar in the plot: both are about maturation and exceeding one's limits in order to be better.

If you like the anime which is based around battle tournaments, I reccomend this anime highly.

Both protaganists care for their friends highly but want to reach the top just as much, and become the best around at the sport.

Both are rather light hearted but have a darker theme in them as well. (Even though this darker theme isn't really dark, it just is in comparison to the rest of the show. )

If you enjoyed one then you will enjoy the other.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX

At the island-based Duel Academy, young potential duelists gain the skills they need to become a top notch duelist. The students are divided into three classes named after the three Egyptian god cards: the top ranked Obelisk Blue, average Ra Yellow, and beginner Slifer Red. Jaden Yuki is currently a student at the academy, and is a huge fan of the famous Yugi Mutou. Though Jaden must start off slowly in the Slifer Red class, his goal is impressive: to become the next King of Games! Together with Syrus, Chumley, and Bastion, their dueling matches will draw them into the shadow realm, and into trouble. Jaden and the gang must do the only thing possible: get their game on!

Unlike a show like Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh GX and Pokemon are more similar because the main characters chose to be where they are, and are working towards a goal, not to save the world, but just become the best at what they do. They train hard, and constantly battle others (battles/matches happen almost every episode). However, Pokemon has less of a storyline than Yu-Gi-Oh GX.

sothis sothis says...

While many titles out there mimic Pokemon, most aren't as good of a pairing as it and Live on Cardliver. Both have an overly eager protagonist and plenty of proxy battles (cards and pokeballs), and the tone and feel are more lighthearted than most of these shows. There's enough shounen action to appeal to fans of either title.

Save Me! Lollipop

Save Me! Lollipop

Whoever is in the possession of the Pearl on Christmas will pass the test; leaving Nina as the most sought after item of the magic world. Luckily for her, two handsome magicians, Ichii and Zero, have pledged to keep her safe until the contest has ended. Can Nina keep her sanity with not only dozens of magicians out to capture her, but also the invasion of these two hunks into every aspect of her life?

Both Pokemon and Save Me! Lollipop follow a team or two guys and a girl as they struggle against fairly incompetent villains. To be sure, the basic premise and method of battle differs quite a bit, but the two shows balance humor and mischief with fighting to achieve their goals nicely. In addition, Team Rocket and the sorcerer team of San and Forte share the same method of departure from battle. ;) If you laughed at the humor in one show, you'll probably enjoy the humor in the other.
