I personally feel like this anime has a unique and intresting perspective on "Good and Evil". In many action animes there tends to be an overpowered, optimistic, and kind hearted protagonist that will always be on the "righteous" side. These stories always have an "objective" line between "good and evil". What I like about Code Geass is that there is no "good side", you are sidding with the lesser of two evils. Lelouch is a narcissistic mass murderer protagonist, Lelouch's action show that he follows a Utlilitarian ideology, he basically thinks the ends justify the means. In reality there are no objective lines that seperate "good and evil", there are grey areas, this anime does such a great job of including the grey areas and moral dilemmas to the point where you are questioning whether Lelouch is actually rational and justified in his actions. His character has a striking similarity to Goku Black and Light Yagami regarding their ethical ideologies. Overall this anime had an amazing take on ethical ideologies and moral dilemmas.

I don't know if I'd compare Lelouch with Light Yagami. They seem more different than alike.
