Hi!
If I marked someone as "hated", that usually means it was a badly developed antagonist (ex. Koichi Shido from Highschool of the Dead) or a joke character that wasn't funny to me (ex. Andy von de Oniyate from Cowboy Bebop). And... well, there are characters which I outright hate for one of the following: everything (ex. Makoto Itou from School Days), ruining the show, having too big of an ego (ex. Shingo Shoji from Initial D), being irritating in general.
For "loved" ones, that goes in a similar way - there are well-developed characters (that includes well written antagonists), a good joke characters I actually laughed at and also some jokes on my part.
(I might change these policies one day, though.)

Yeah ... the fact that it's tagged with suicide and comedy at the same time kind of made me doubt I want to see it. I mean suicide is hardly a subject people should make fun of.... But if you say it's not bad then perhaps I'll give it a try one day after all ... just need to gather some courage before I do that. :P Thanks for your opinion.

I'm actually listening to that list of yours now as I'm writing you a response. It's a nice list. I've never chosen to watch anime based on the soundtracks. I have chosen based on the seiyuu lists though. :P
I'm doing a lot better than I was back then when I wanted to see others suffer so I wouldn't feel so alone in my misery, yeah. I still have some issues, but nothing as bad as back then.
I don't really remember that Steely Dan scene you mentioned but I'm sure it was a good one.
