Might contain spoilers.  The animation is very bad, and it could have been overlooked if it actually had a good pace & story. Some parts clearly aren't being shown, for example why did Chu Yuan thought Duan Baiyue was not going to try to overthrow him so suddenly, without any evidence? There was not any connection between the two events, everything felt so sudden and unconnected.  The politics and other characters in the show weren't even interesting enough to watch 8 episodes without seeing the two leads interacting (except the flashbacks). Might contain spoilers. The story is very interesting to begin with. It's about a boy named Shen Yuan who dies and wakes up in Shen Qingqiu's body, who is the villain of a story he loves to hate. He knows what happens to the main villain. But he doesn't want to die, or at least he wants to die less painfully. So he starts acting more like a teacher and less like an asshole to the main protagoinst of the story, Luo Binghe.
