Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

Apr 10, 2024

Why should you watch Frieren?

As a longtime anime fan, I found myself asking this question when seeing this anime blowing up on the internet. I figured it would have been just another run of the mill fairly decent fantasy. Terribly wrong, I was.

To put it out there, Frieren is possibly the greatest anime adaptation of a manga. I believe that even after reading the manga, the pure quality of production that this adaptation provides makes every plot point and character progression even more emotionally impactful. Animation in particular mundane scenes that could have been swept over with... See full review

The Dangers in My Heart

Jun 4, 2023

Super biased, as this is my favorite romance manga ever. The way the story and the scenes are portrayed through his eyes gives the viewer a lot of insight into how he thinks and feels (arguably moreso than the manga). Everything from his middle school delusions to his middle school peversions even. This creates a connection between the viewer and Ichikawa that makes what he feels easy to understand, and can in many cases feel more impactful such as his insecurities that get in the way of his reality. There were some shots taken straight out of the manga that blew me away. However, there were some scenes... See full review

Summer Time Rendering

Jun 24, 2022

Summer Time Rendering is definitely one of the hits of this season's anime. It won't win any awards but the story is intriguing and will keep your attention through. The premise itself is enticing. Comparing it to the manga, this adaptation is a one to one. The story does have a few holes, but it makes enough sense and will keep you watching. The characters, while intriguing and have interesting character designs, aren't exceptional. The main selling point is the production and it is very polished. You would be hard pressed to find any other seasonal anime with far better production. Overall, highly... See full review

Dr. Stone

Feb 26, 2021

If you enjoyed Food Wars, you'd enjoy Dr. Stone. The premise of the story is extremely intriguing, and it's probably what kept everyone watching after the first episode. The idea of a post apocalyptic world is exhilirating. Despite this, the overall story itself pales in comparison. Though, there weren't any times where it was a hindrance. The story is not what Dr. Stone is about though. Dr. Stone is about Science. And it does an extremely good job at being a glorified documentary of the history of human technology. And that's what Dr. Stone is about mainly, it's a post apocalyptic shounen with science as... See full review

Goblin Slayer

Feb 26, 2021

Goblin Slayer is clearly a story written by someone who is either an amateur or is trying to straddle the line between a light novel and a dark fantasy. The story itself, isn't at all impressive and there is nothing with the story that would impress any story lovers, though it doesn't have anything bringing it down other than the debatedly overused depictions of women being assaulted. Still there is one saving grace to the mediocrity. This is the namesake of the series himself, Goblin Slayer. Goblin Slayer himself saves this series from any sort of issue it might have. His motivations are simple, and his... See full review
