This was a very slow story and there was a lot of unnecessary and boring filler. There were things like explaining how the fl made bbq or mooncakes, but never giving enough detail to make it interesting, so it was both too much and too little information. By chapter 66 the fl and ml hadn't even met again. It was just waaaay too slow. The the author also added child abuse, which is always horrible and uncomfortable to read about. The original mother ignored her child, didn't bath him, feed him, wash his clothes etc. He was ignored, neglected and verbally abused for the first 4 years of his life. This creates lifelong scarring, yet it was pretty much healed within a few hours after the new mother gave him affection and attention. As a mother this breaks my heart. I know this type of abuse happens, but I don't want to read about it for entertainment. Especially if it's treated so lightly. So by ch 66 I read about an abused child, a mother making food and not much more. Therefore I'm dropping this story here.
