These types of quickie BL stories are built around two things: the dynamics between personalities and some sort of unique element in the setting that can help them stand apart from the crowd. The personality dynamics for this one are basically "Innocent x Well-Bed" and "Diligent x Casual." Kiichi is diligent and serious about the things fe sets out to do, but also can have a child-like enjoyment (and fe is sexually inexperienced). Ren admires how fully Kiichi invests into things and wants to try doing the same. Fe is somewhat charismatic and the children seem to like fem (and fe used to be sexually promiscuous). The unique element of this one is the kindergarten, and the fact that they are coworkers there. The children, like Saori, and other things that occur in the kindergarten are largely just background noise, but they do help give the story a unique texture. It makes the super basic plotline feel a little less than boring (though it doesn't propel to the level of actually being "interesting"). The story also tries to create hooks and points of tension by introducing things that could potentially be problems and then letting them stew, only to later have the problem just dissipate. The examples of this I'm thinking about are when Kiichi bursts out crying (ch. 1) and when Kiichi walks out after learning about Ren's past (ch. 3). Both of those moments initially suggested that some actual drama would occur, but then ended up leading to nothing. Others might call that nothing "wholesome." I want to be clear that a 3/10 doesn't mean that I actively disliked this manga. It just means that I was bored with it and found it to be lacking. I already went through how I didn't appreciate the faux-drama, but I also didn't think the sex scenes were very sensually enticing and I found the final chapter to be especially dull.

This was such a cute manga Ok, so here's my summary of this manga:    Story      Ren was an aspiring musician when his father, the principal of a kindergarten (daycare, I presume) tells him that he can do whatever he wants until the age of twenty-five, and if it doesn't work out, Ren will come and work for him at his daycare. Well, Ren said F the daycare, and continued his ways: an unsuccessful, playboy musician.      You can already guess that when Ren turned twenty-five, he was working at his father's daycare. On the first day on his job, he teases his co-worker, Kiichi, but we already know that Kiichi rejects.      Work continues, as always, but one day Ren has to help Kiichi make preparations for the kids. During this, Ren learns that Kiichi is more than just a kid-loving idiot, and they begin sharing little things about themselves. When Ren makes a sincere joke saying "If I were a kid, I'd definitely love you" But for some reason, this makes Kiichi cry!    Art      The art? Amazing! The kids are honestly the most adorable things ever. Most, if not all, characters are drawn beautifully.    Characters      The characters are nice. They have their own personalities, and are easy to differentiate because of it.    Overall       Overall, this manga is really good. It would be perfect, except there is really no...plot? But, other than that, it's really nice.
