A series that's equal parts dark, humorous, and sexy. Akuheki follows a relationship that, under any other circumstances, would be deeply toxic, but because of the people involved, is actually shockingly healthy and healing for both parties. I never imagined I would read a series that starts with one half of the couple violently trying to kill the other, and come out describing their relationship as surprisingly wholesome, but here we are. I love how the characters personalities play off each other, how they go from viewing each other as a means to their own selfish ends but quickly become attached to each other and start trying to be better for each other- and wind up improving their own personal lives in the process. This manga goes to some dark places, and as it's still ongoing it seems like it still has some more dark stops to make, but it's definitely an enjoyable read for anyone looking for something psychological but also oddly sweet. As a warning, there is absolutely some dubious consent in the beginning- the recipient of the assault was actually trying to goad the attacker into fucking him, but the attacker absolutely thinks he is assaulting him so. Read with caution if that is something you are sensitive to!
