I love this man soooooo much, like imma die of love... No, but seriously, he is such an important part of the show and without him I AM CERTAIN that the show would no be as good as it is. DAZAI OSAMU will forever be one of THE MOST amazing and complex characters (and down right gorgeous) I have ever come across, and tbh, the Manga makes Dazai seem SO much smarter and cooler (and hotter..), so I recommend, I mean its free EYE CANDY. OML I have an obsession, Imma go ;)
He is genuinely one of the best anime characters ever. Yes he is hot af but there's so much more to him than that like yes I do agree what he did to Akutagawa is freaking unacceptable but he's willing to change and he's working towards being a better person. He acknowledged Aku at the end of season 2 and he is so caring and compassionate about his friends and honestly, the depths of his personality are just relatable. It's so dumb how people hate him for his comical suicide attempts like no idiots he's dead serious about each one of them it's just that the story portrays it to be funny so that the show is lightened up. Just watch the dark era and fifteen arcs and you'll see that none of his suicidal thoughts are a joke and they are genuinely dark and saddening. Honestly, I'd love to find someone like him irl, he just feels so imperfect and that's what makes him feel so.. real and human. He is genuinely my favorite anime character EVER and I don't think my mind will change about him so easily.
