Imagine if the roles were reversed - if Kei was exactly the same but male and Ayanokoji was exactly the same but female, some y'all would go insane, calling the male Kei weak and telling them to "man up," saying that fem Ayano is "bitchy and emotionless," etc. It's normalized for female characters to be weak/written weakly to the point where most are desensitized to it.
The only ones crying are her rabid fanboys lol - "how dare people dislike her, sHe'S sUCh a dEeP cHaRacTeR"
The writers played straight into the typical damsel in distress trope with this one. This may come as a shock to some of y'all, but there exist people who enjoy seeing strong female characters that are actually able to stick up for themselves instead of sitting around waiting for a guy to "save them" or allowing bullies to push them around.

I guess 99% the people who hate or dislike her, have no idea about Writing. Because she was at least slighty above Average and decent enough.
Yet people are crying because she has actually a real personality.
