Well, if you watch this anime in 2020, you will find her classic tsundere as cliche. At the time it went out tsundere characters just started to popping out of every harem anime. When you get this into consideration you wont find her that bad. She is heavily preferred girl because of their past (also their sisters), it is implied if the author wont end it with harem end, the only girl who would end up with is Houki. Her sister Tabane regarded as ultimate human would be the final boss.
What a lame,cliched and annoying character? Houki is everything but not a lame character! I love her character and true she has flaws but she 's still a great and funny character. To me she is not at all annoying she has very great moments in the anime and she cared Ichika very well and take care of him.
