Although the build up is extremely slow and some of the earlier episodes can be a little bit annoying (loud, random, kind of confusing), stick with it! Its absolutely worth watching, particularly for the later fight sequences and moments of epicness in which your brain explodes and there's nothing left to do but fist pump the air and grin with that sweet feeling of satisfaction.

That said, the only nagging issue I had with the anime was the fact that it adopts a very "traditionalist" view of women in Japan, the whole "stay at home and pray for the men's safety and also lets do a bit of housework while we wait" didn't really sit well with me. There are a disturbing lack of strong female characters, and those that are present do need saving at some point or another/collapse/disappear when the main fighting starts. Despite this, I love the sense of family and comradeship that is presented throughout; all the characters are different but still form strong bonds with each other. The reason for fighting is almost always "to protect each other", which is something I can get behind.

There are a few episodes you'll wish you could skip mind. Every series has them, but the filler episodes of KHR are just as dull and mind-numbing as any other, and to be honest slapstick comedy was never something I particularly enjoyed. But if you do, then great! There's plenty of that, especially in the first few episodes!

The animation is also something which only gets better and better as the series progresses; in many of the episodes, the vivid HD colours and seamless movements are really beautiful to watch, and stick with you long after you've finished. If you're looking for an anime that screams "the hero will always win! Good will triumph!" this is definitely for you, the vibe that "no matter how bad things get, we'll overcome the odds" is really resonant in every arc. Definitely something to watch if you never want the fun to end (203 episodes dude).

Kateikyoshi Hitman Reborn! (katekyo hitman reborn)  is an anime that was created from a manga featured in shonun jump comics.

The storyline is a little of a long stretch from imagination.  A baby hitman from italy is being sent to japan to train the next head of the "Vongola" family.  Sawada Tsunayoshi is a lazy dimwitted japanese middle schooler who is in love with a girl named Kyoko Sasegawa.  The Baby hitman uses special bullets that bring out the "Dying will" of people.  This all happens in the first episode.

I have personally watched all the episodes that are out there and i feel that the beginning of the series is just very slow.  if you get past the first 20 or so episodes you come to a almost new feeling show thats now a battle style brawling show with a few built up and preused jokes ever now and then.

I truly LOVED this anime and the manga its based off of.  i watched this show at the start with a feeling of dread because i feared it would get worse.  but after those first episodes i started to turn from dread to anticipation as the show kept getting better and better.  im not saying this show is for everyone but i will say that this show opened me up to be willing to give other animes another shot.

So, 203 episodes and what to say about it? It's shounen, that's sure, but in my opinion it's for younger audience, who won't think about it so deep as me.

That was the first thing that crossed my mind from the beginning, but it was kind of cute nad entertaining if you endured the first 20 episodes, i think. And that's it. It's easy to start watching it than it becomes hard to endure these first episodes, but if you can manage through it will become fine. And finally you will start to feel that someone is doing fun of you with characters, which have no progress in whole anime and what was at start cute and fine now start to be annoying and it's still harder and harder to continue watching (the plot is starting to wear off, as you are :D ) and it's really, really hard to not fall asleep or not to grab your computer and throw it out from window, when you're watching last few episodes.

I really over and over again thought to myself: "why didn't they do this, it's perfectly logic and the fastest way to do it", but really? They don't do it :D and other things of course

Okay, so overview. Story is not so good as it could be, characters have no development through the long story and there are some illogical things that really angered me.

On the other side, music is really good, animation is quite okay and in the half it was really enjoyable, but it wasn't enough. Unfortunately. As I said in the beginning I think that I'm too old for this s... tuff, I said stuff.

It was the first anime series I watched. The silliest character, Lambo, a crybaby disguised as a cow (!?!) dragged me in, with his cute childish song.

The strenght of the series really is in its characters and humor. It has quite an interesting melting pots of weirdos. You'll never see the mafia the same way after watching this.

The story could sometimes be tightened up, however, it is interesting to see the characters develop new abilities. You never know what they will come up with next. Too bad girls all tend to have a strong passion for cooking and housechores that prevent them to have interesting parts in the storyline.

It's like The Sopranos and Pokemon combined... Except without the Sopranos part...

Plot: This anime is basically a crappy shounen comedy mixed with a solid shounen action series. The first bit of the series as well as a few episodes inbetween arcs is focused on comedy... and it's bad... Most of the jokes are lame running gags which become more and more painful everytime they're used, and they're used a lot. The main arcs however are at least somewhat interesting, even though the last one drags on forever (seriously, it takes up over half the series.) The second season is by far the best though. The battle with the Varia is just awesome and I feel I would have enjoyed the series more as a whole if it kept the overall tone of that arc. The time travel arc had it's good moments but it just goes on for far too long and the fillers used inbetween are pretty pointless. The series also has a habit of constantly recapping previous episodes... So you'll be seeing the same freaking scenes over and over again at the beginning of every episode. The series probably would've been almost 20 episodes shorter if it weren't for all the recaps. The mafia theme also isn't very apparent most of the time... Which is unfortunate...

Animation: The animation is quite good and I really like Akira Amano's art style (she can create some really cool characters.) The anime does a good job of tadapting her style, though there are times when it looks as though Tsuna's eyes are trying to engulf his face... It's probably just me though.

Sound: The music is also really good here. I especially like several of the intros and outros. The voice acting is overall pretty solid. I can't really find anything to complain about besides a few song choices that I personally don't care for.

Characters: I have mixed feeling on a lot of the characters here. Sometimes they can be annoying as Hell while other times they can be totally badass (Lambo and Gokudera especially.) All in all we do get a wide veriety of characters here, and a lot of the more annoying characters do improve as adults (like Bianchi and Giannini) in the time travel arc. I'm kinda disappointed by the lack of strong female characters here though. A lot of them seem to just live in the kitchen...

Overall: I'd say read the manga first. The gag chapters aren't quite as painful and the manga doesn't have any unnecessary recaps or fillers (which there are a lot of in the anime.) The anime is also really toned downed from manga. I know this came off as being a rather negative review but I really didn't hate or even dislike this series. There are plenty of things to enjoy in the anime still and if shounen action series like Naruto or Bleach are your thing then I'd definitely recommend giving it a watch.
