I'm going to start by saying that I'm a massive Batman fan. So when i heard about this I was exicted to see it, even more so when I found out that all four of the Bat boys were in it. Since this is the first time even that they have all been on screen together.

However.....while the art was truly stunning, I was left feeling like this was more of a video game promo than a movie. The idea behind the moive is amazing, the way they actully did it fell short.

If you know anything about Batman, Nightwing in this is okay but doens't really seem like how he is in any other animated form. Red Robin seems more like how Nightwing normaly is. Red Hood is honestly not important to the movie which is a shame. And Robin? that boy is not the Robin I know that ends up as the fourth Robin, he seems more like a young Dick Grayson than he does Damian Wayne.

I recomend at least watching it to say that you have. But don't expect to much from it. I may watch the movie one more time, but i don't think i'll be buying it unless there is something else with it.

Finally, The Batman we weebs deserve. The chariot tank at the end was the only funny scene.

The character designs were cool, can't wait for the over priced figurines.

It's Sengoku period, it has ninjas, it has castles that turn into mechas and they even combine, there are monkeys that form a giant monkey and bats that cover them to form a giant Batman, Batman and Joker shounen yell punch until the color is blown off.

Story is good, Batman delivers the smoothest exposition dump explaining they are in Japan, Sengoku period. There's also an actual prophesy of a ninja with bat mask saving Japan. Batman actually addresses him being nothing without his tech.

Animation is good, there is a short 'Sumi-e esque' animation bit which is especially nice.

Sound is good, fitting music when the castles combine.

Characters are Batman characters, nothing new here.

Bonus one liners:

  • "Time for some girl on girl action" - Catwoman (sadly we ain't that lucky)
  • "It's not how you fall, but how you pick yourself up that counts" - Joker (we all know where this is from)
  • "I'm not here for your entertainment" - Batman (pretty sure this line was in a popular song)

This was a hot mess. Characters, plot, and action are all weird and off.

DC should be ashamed of themselves. A 1/10.

If you want to watch Batman, here is my list of the batman series:

  • Every cartoon before 1992: Too slow and corny 3/10.
  • The 1992- 1995 “Batman the Animated Series” cartoon: Absolutely legendary 9.5/10.
  • The 1997 continuation “The New Batman Adventures” cartoon: Very good 8/10.
  • The 1999-2001 “Batman Beyond” cartoon: A very cool and unique addition. Legendary. 9.5/10.
  • The 2001-2004 Justice League cartoon: Good 7.5/10.
  • The 2004-2006 "Justice League Unlimited": Pretty good 7/10.
  • The 2004-2008 “The Batman” cartoon: better than people give it credit for 7/10.
  • The 2008-2011 “Batman the Brave and the Bold” cartoon: decent, just too childish 6/10
  • The 2013-2022 The “Young Justice” cartoon: started out good but then turned into a drawn out lg6tq+ promotional one. 5/10.
  • The 2013-2014 “Beware the Batman” cartoon: Just average 5/10.
  • The 2015-2016 “Batman Unlimited” cartoon: Under-average, too short and jumbled 4/10.
  • The 2016-2018 “The Justice League Action” cartoon: Above average but a little out there. 6.5/10.

The art was amazing! The story was atrocious and barely watchable.

The character writing was thin at best exceptions being: Red Hood was right! And Catwoman saying 'Cat got your tongue' and 'Gotta love a man who can forgive you for doublecrossing him'. Aside from that, very flimsy.

There were entertaining moments like Batman's halo (bald at the top except for an outline of a bat) monk haircut thing and the bat chariot instead of the batmobile.

I practically screamed in frustration when seconds after the monkeys being burned a fleet of animal bats went into cover them and merge together to form a giant batman were somehow flameproof on the cape section? Inexplicably? I hate it when a story breaks its own rules, especially so quickly after establishing something. I mean not that the monkeys understanding human language or being able to form a giant monkey made sense either but the fact that animals vs fire got solved like that totally smashed any suspension of disbelief I had going for the sake of the film.

It was really well animated and I enjoyed the voice acting, the art was wonderful fun, but apart from a few bright spots the story and dialogue were terrible and made it so it was hard to endure sitting through the film.

I'm not sure how high to rate this considering the discrepancy.

UTTER crap... by all means do not waste your life on this... ever...

This is actually beyond crap, it's what a desperate franchise IS, when it tries getting all of the anime waypoints and it fails so bad it hurts your soul for the 1:25:14 of your life you never getting back.

It's a cliche upon a cliche building a mecha of cliches, and that is till not enough to describe how bad it is...

How come a samurai is a ninja, because of the goons supportin Batman? The sheer annoyance The Joker and Harley her present is overwhelming! Character-wise, Catwoman is the only redeeming feature here...

This deserves a -10 out of 10, 0 is a frikin grace O_O too bad I can't give it a 0... the Animation is interesting though, watch it with no sound you loose NOTHING!
