While Ironman is encased in an armored suit, I can't help but see similarities in Tony Stark to the cyborg protagonist, Hachiro Azuma of 8 Man. Both characters are essentially reborn into their alter egos and fight criminals, monsters and of course, the syndicate. Both are flawed men with an axe to grind and have their respective issues with unrequited love interests. If you like one, you should like the other.

However, Black Ghost did not count on his cyborg soldiers rebelling against his evil cause.
Many years ago, nine humans were captured and transformed into cyborgs for the purposes of becoming agents of evil. Instead, they rebelled, becoming champions of justice anytime the earth was in need. Now, in a post-9/11 world, the meaning of "justice" has become clouded. The cyborgs, untouched by time, and some without memory of their status as heroes, have since taken up lives as ordinary civilians. But when a mysterious force known only as "His Voice" compels people across the world to commit unspeakable acts of violence, even cyborg 009, Joe Shimamura, falls victim to the irresistible faceless power. In an era when cyber-terrorism is rapidly advancing, how can the cyborgs combat an enemy that has no face, no weapons, and seemingly no motive?
Joe Shimamura is one of nine humans abducted and experimented upon by the mysterious “Black Ghost” organization. Awakening to find he has super powers no mere mortal could possess and the name of Cyborg 009, Joe escapes from the lab to meet up with the other eight humans that escaped. Together, they join forces to stop the mad scientist Dr. Gilmore, their creator, and Black Ghost itself. Can they prevail against this nigh unstoppable enemy before the world falls into their villainous control?
