Ichi the Killer: Episode 0

Oct 1, 2008

Story
Violence? Check! Blatant and explicit sex? Check! Animal torture and otherwise deranged murders? Check! It could only be one thing: Ichi the Killer. Let's get one thing straight: I haven't seen the disturbingly famous Ichi the Killer live action movie, nor do I ever intend to. Torture for the sake of torture isn't my thing, and the only reason I picked up its prequel, Ichi the Killer Episode 0, is to add it to the database. After sitting through its entirety I can say one thing for certain: Ichi the Killer Episode 0 lives up to its predecessor's notoriety. This short look at a brutal... See full review

Iblard Jikan

Aug 1, 2007

Story
I must be honest: reviewing an anime that is a mere thirty minutes in length is a chore. Not only is there rarely enough time to develop strong characters (or any sort of emotional bond with them), but there generally isn't time to develop a complex or compelling story, as well. Now imagine what's it's like to try to review a thirty-minute OVA which has no dialogue and almost no animation! Needless to say, I apologize in advance for the length of this review.Studio Ghibli's Iblard Jikan is comprised of nothing more than a minimally-animated set of paintings by the famous... Ichigo 100%: Koi ga Hajimaru?! Satsuei Gasshuku - Yureru Kokoro ga Higashi e Nishi e

Apr 9, 2005

Story
Sometimes, I think the creators of certain anime series must be fourteen year old boys with raging hormones. Other times, I think they must be 35 year old virgins. Whatever the case, this theory of mine is seemingly proven with something like Ichigo 100%, which easily falls to new levels of crappiness in the realm of anime.

The story revolves around Junpei, and how many women can possibly not only want him, but show him their panties. Err, wait... that’s not really the story, but it sure as hell seems like the point! The loose "story" is related to Junpei and his gang filming... See full review

Idol Project

Jan 2, 2005

Story
Ugh. After finishing Idol Project, that's my strongest reaction. Nevertheless, let's start the review, shall we?

As mentioned in the description, Idol Project follows a young girl named Mimu as she strives to become an idol. This anime was presumably made because of Japan's obsession with idols, who tend to do things such as singing, acting, or just prancing around in public looking pretty. Mimu, like many real life people in Japan, probably, is obsessed with becoming an idol as famous as HER idol, Yuri. Thus, she tries out at the idol competition in Starland, a place definitely... Ichigeki Sacchuu!! HoiHoi-san

Oct 10, 2004

Story
Given the fact that this is a 10 minute OVA, you'll please forgive me if this isn't a long review. That being said, Hoihoi-san is a fairly unusual story about little robots that have been manufactured to kill bugs. Definitely unique in its premise, so it made for an interesting watch. Due to the length, we know barely anything that's going on except that two kinds of these robots are battling each other, as well as the bugs! A fair amount of comic relief is thrown in, and one actual character is introduced, but not much besides that. This definitely seems like it was an intro (perhaps for the... See full review

Interlude

Oct 5, 2004

Story
An unnamed young man lives his life normally with his friends, his childhood sweetheart Tama, and the usual daily activities. He goes to school, does his homework, hangs out with his friends, and is by all means a normal teenager. But recently, he has been having terrible nightmares of an existence that seems unreal, and it all goes down hill from there...

Truly, there is not much else that can be said about the plot in detail without spoiling, and since the entire basis of Interlude is that it’s secretive, mysterious, and is designed to make you think and discuss, spoiling it... See full review
