Horses dashing gallantly... Knights challenging their own limits... Magnificent, heroic battles highlight the horseback lance sport of jousting. One of the many people fascinated by this proud sport, Mizuno Takahiro, acts as a begleiter (an assistant) to jousting knights as he lives his rather tedious life at Winford Academy. This is the story of Takahiro and these female knights in their passionate, noble battles.

Walkure Romanze is a echii , harem , romance anime , al least thats what they say but couldn't find any of them. No much echii. Ok let me ask what echii do you expect from an horse riding anime. Well its obviously hot girls in sexy suits but it even failed in them. Atleast they could have developed nice harem but they failed in it too. Its just a bunch of girls asking a boy to become their begleiter or an assistant who gives tactics and tips to the actual jouster. And no absolute romance, just no! Ok i understand this anime is made by the 8-bit studios who also made Infinite stratos , which is one of my favourite harem anime. And i expected the same kind of harem on this anime too. Ok enough blabbing and lets go to the plus points in this anime. Animation and sound was great , just great! They Did a good job in making the 3-D movements of the horses and the shaders. I could hardly believe that this anime was released in 2013. And the BGM was really good too. As expected from 8-bit studios. And looks like they ran out of time in the last episode because the 2-D animation of the last episode kinda sucked. Like really sucked. The story was soo forced , more forced than force applied on a baby on its way to be born. Just , it was so annoying like you would see how they had great characters , animation and sounds but they just ruined it with the story. The plot was good but the way they represented it was awful. The characters , i really liked the character designs. But about their involvement in the story..... i dont even know what to say. The way they represented the characters was so bad that i even forgot what they were supposed to do when i was in halfway. Some characters like Celia and the nurse weren't given enough attention which bothered me.Overall , this would have been an awesome anime only if they give enough attention for the story , other than that everything was great. I would recommend this if you have nothing else to watch or if you are bored of the normal echii and harem. I didn't hate it so much and if season 2 was released , i would give it a try , and you should too!

"Walkure Romanze" - A Knightly Tale of Romance and Jousting Story (6/10): "Walkure Romanze" presents an unusual mix of romance and jousting, setting the stage in a unique world where knights engage in competitive jousting tournaments. The story follows Takahiro Mizuno, a former knight-in-training who becomes a jousting coach at an all-female academy. The narrative explores themes of ambition, competition, and romance as Takahiro trains the academy's knights and forms close bonds with them. While the premise is intriguing, the story tends to rely on familiar harem tropes and character archetypes, which may feel predictable to some viewers. However, it manages to balance its romantic and competitive elements reasonably well. Animation (7/10): The animation quality in "Walkure Romanze" is solid, especially during the jousting sequences. The character designs are attractive, and the knights' armor and equipment are detailed and visually interesting. The jousting matches are well-animated and convey a sense of excitement and tension. While the overall animation quality is good, it doesn't reach the heights of some higher-budget anime, but it effectively serves the series' themes. Sound (6/10): The soundtrack of "Walkure Romanze" provides a suitable backdrop for the series, with music that captures the medieval and romantic atmosphere. However, it doesn't particularly stand out, and some viewers may not remember the music long after watching. Voice acting is decent, with the cast effectively portraying the characters' personalities and emotions. Characters (6/10): The characters in "Walkure Romanze" fit into familiar anime archetypes, such as the earnest and somewhat oblivious protagonist, the competitive and tsundere love interest, and the shy and soft-spoken girl. While these characters have their moments of development and charm, they don't break new ground in terms of depth or complexity. The interactions between the characters, especially during the jousting training and competitions, provide some enjoyable dynamics and romantic tension. Overall (6/10): "Walkure Romanze" is an anime that combines elements of romance, harem, and sports in a unique medieval setting. While it doesn't break new ground in terms of storytelling or character development, it offers an entertaining blend of competitive jousting and budding romance. If you enjoy anime with knights, tournaments, and romantic entanglements, this series might be worth a watch. However, it may not leave a lasting impact due to its adherence to genre conventions.

Walkure Romanze is about a male protagonist with past grand experiences and injury with Jousting sport in a school environment. The story involves the male protagonist getting new experiences in jousting by being and getting friends with several girls from his school. Review Conclution Walkure Romanze makes you feel good if you set yourself as the protagonist's view as an experienced "knight" of Jousting. Gives you excitement when the protagonist's "harem" girls are helped by the protagonist for Jousting or when the girls realizes the protagonist's experience of Jousting. The story makes you feel good but no attachment to the characters in the story. The anime have a great focus on the protagonist and some character development with the "harem" girls but lacked some deeper meaning between the characters to relate to them and find an attachment to them more than Jousting. Therefore I give Walkure Romanze 6,5 out of 10 as it's not something complete in my view of a romance story when you want to relate to the characters and them fall in love but made me feel good for the moment. In-Depth Review When I rate an anime I focus on how the story is presented and what content it has compared to what I want. Yes it is dependent on what I know and experienced from before but it is like that with all knowledge in the world so let's start this. How is the story presented to the watcher? The animation was fluid and sound was crisp for what the anime was focused on to present. No music that was noticable. All in my view that was there that give me excitement during or for Jousting events.  How was the content? As the anime had some start of romance between Mio and Takahiro it barely led to something deeper between them. All the other girls just admired Takahiro even though admiration is a part of love they didn't know Takahiro as well as Mio did and therefore didn't see his "weaknesses" over all to really admire a Takahiro despite flaws as it is my definition of love. Harem was there if you define it as girls admireing the protagonist so it was nothing wrong per say but when it's only 12 episodes and it is a "romance" anime then much is focused to get some sort of personality about the multiple girls and it takes away much that could give the story a romance between the protagonist and a girl or fewer "harem" girls. As far as Ecchi goes in the story then it was great as it held a minimum of it as it was not making the protagonist act like a perv so I could relate to him more. Example was the episode that had the main content as ecchi while making one of the girls being able to be with one of the other girl in a less dreamy mind while yes the protagonist finally ended to meet them it gave nothing between him and the girls over all other than he knew how to make an explosion from something unusual. The episode could just make the girl dreaming girl less dreamy by making the protagonist be the more elemnt of her dreams etc but focused on the ecchi stuff and content between them instead. Sports was the main focus and Walkure Romanze shined in it. Even though the content were not that precise with real life jousting they picked great content from it and made it exciting. School Life was a bare minimum like the Ecchi, Romance. The only thing that really related to it was the theme with it as the jousting and the characters were restricted by it outside of the class hours that was barely shown in the story. Example: The "Teacher" that was most in the story only in my memory was shown working in a bar or kitchen at the resident & restaurant building. The protagonist barely changed as a person during the story and his goal/values was really foggy except when he agreed with the girls at times. The character/protagonist focus was great but I wished it could be more focus on the romance and character progression between the girls or girl and the protagonist. Therefore I rated 6,5 out of 10 as I seeked more relation and character development for Romance but was great for momentarily excitement of the sport Jousting.
