In a bizarre fantasy world, students known as meisters are trained at the illustrious Shinigami Weapon Meister University; but the tools they wield are no ordinary weapons! Each meister is paired with a human-like being who can transform into a weapon at will; and after defeating a pre-kishin - a human whose soul has darkened - the weapon eats the soul within it. A meister's ultimate goal is to collect ninety-nine pre-kishin souls and one of a witch so that his or her partner will become an all-powerful Death Scythe. Maka and her partner Soul Eater; Assassin Black Star and his partner Demon Blade Tsubaki; and Shinigami's son Death the Kid and his partners the Demon Twin Pistol Thompson Sisters each vie for their ultimate goal, but plenty of challenges and adventures lie in their way!
Hinamori Amu is a stylish punk rock girl who is liked and feared by her peers, but there's just one problem: she's actually a shy and quiet girl who can't seem to drop her self-fabricated facade! But when Amu finds three eggs in her bed, she had no idea her life would change forever. Out of the eggs pop Ran, Miki and Su, Amu's Guardian Charas; these being represent parts of Amu that she wishes she could be, even allowing Amu to transform into those parts at will! Now, with pressure from the other Guardians (including her crush, Hotori) to join their midst, dark sides of the psyche known as X Eggs to seal, and nefarious forces after a wish-granting egg known as the embryo, Amu's life has officially become more complicated!
I know that one is a magical girl and one is a shonen.I can't guarantee that you will definitely like them both but these two animes have similiar personalities and genres and the storyline is kind of the same. You have the tag teams in both the animes. (Shugo Chara - The Guardians and Amu) (Soul Eater - Soul, Maka, Black Star, Tsubaki, Death the Kid, Liz, and Patti) Then you have the goal of the animes. (Shugo Chara - Rid of all X eggs) (Soul Eater - Rid of all the Kishin eggs) Then you have the evil characters trying to develop some inhumanly and uncontrollable thing. (Shugo Chara - Easter company) (Soul Eater - Medusa and Arachne) Then you have that demented and slightly odd teacher. (Shugo Chara - Nikaidou-sensei) (Soul Eater - Dr. Stein-sensei) And then you have the doting parents. (Shugo Chara - Amu's parents) (Soul Eater - Spirit Albarn) All in all as you see, these animes are extremely similiar. Although, I definitely wouldn't recommend Shugo Chara for guys. Instead of saying that they are the same, they are more like the boys' and girls' versions of the same plot. Either way, they are pretty good animes.
Meet Lina Inverse, a mighty sorceress who fights evil in the name of... greed, gluttony and black magic?! When she meets Gourry, a swordsman whose skill with the blade is rivaled only by his stupidity, Zelgadis, a grumpy sorceror who's been turned into a golem, and Rezo, a priest known for his benevolence (with a dark secret), you know her adventures are just beginning!
Both shows are in the shounen action genre with comedy sprikled in. And in both shows the main character is female because their creators wanted to be different. If you like one you should watch the other.

Does have a similar animation style, full of humour, action, science fiction and that something special.
Cross Academy is a school with a difference: in a unique and experimental setup designed by the headmaster, it has a Day Class consisting of ordinary humans and a Night Class filled with vampires. Yuki Cross and her friend Zero Kiryu are school prefects whose job it is to make sure the secret of the Night Class is always safe; they patrol the school grounds at night and supervise the switchover of classes at dawn and dusk to prevent any 'accidents' from happening. While Zero is suspicious of vampires and hates the idea of sharing the same space as them, Yuki admires the Night Class for their beauty and sophistication; she is especially intrigued by their charming leader, Kaname, because he once saved her life. However, as Yuki quickly learns, not all vampires are amiable like the Night Class, and as terrible events unfold, Yuki must ask herself whether in a world where vampires are the hunters and humans are the prey, peaceful coexistence can really be achieved.
Both anime mix dark supernatural drama with a little comedy and romance. All the characters are well developed and each one has a unique point of view. There are many complex relationships in these fantastical worlds.
X-men is basically an American shounen action series. X-men is aimed at the exact same demographic as shounen action and shounen action shows are always about a group of people with superhuman powers (Shinigami) similar to X-men. So if you like shounen action anime or X-men you should check out the other.
