despite what other more famous people have said about this season, i have found the lighter tones(for this series anyway) to mesh wonderfully with the darker notes overall. this season has answered questions that many have been curious about, such as the fates of certain characters that was left inanswered previously, amoung other things. 

the change in animation and art style, although noticable, left a stronger flavor that gave more life to the characters.

the more serious nature of the season has given further character development.
