Hello!! :D Yeah it's a pretty cool site and I like that you can keep track of anime/manga! Thanks, I had a little bit of free time yesterday so I decided to add characters to my ♡ and un-♡ list. I would love to discuss my love and hate for these characters sometime too!

My Philosophy on Rating TitlesI permit myself to rate titles based on subjective experience.  Meaning that I allow my ratings to reflect my personal connection, nostalgia, prefrences, pet peeves, and interaction with a series, manga, or film as well as the objective aspects of storytelling and artistic merit that the title holds.  So my ratings would only be useful to someone with similar tastes and appreciation for media genres. Even so, I appreciate seeing my own experience of a title in relation to someone else's and I think that in context of a social platform, this type of ratings philosophy is important. There would be little use for an anime community in which all the ratings were exactly the same based on objective values for media and writing.

In addition, if a series has multiple forms of media (for instance, anime and manga, anime and video game, etc...) I will rate each form by its own merits.  For instances, if I feel a manga is better than its anime incarnation, this will be reflected in my ratings.

If I had more time, I would certainly write reviews in order to fully explore why I like or dislike a series, as well as fully acknowledge the redeaming or failing qualities that I miss or ignore due to my emotional or intellectual connection to a title.

Disclaimer

I am not going to bother with "rewatches."  I think it's completely superfluous information that can be used for little other than an otaku cock measuring tool for unnessesary ego-boosting. In addition, there are some titles which would be impossible for me to recall my rewatches/rereads. They've just been with me for so long throughout my life that trying to accurately remember how many times I've watched such a movie/series would be unfruitful and a meaningless waste of energy.
