I wouldn't say this is a master piece, but its not actually bad either. I would say its just normal story with some good characters and heavily rely on art in my opinion. The story gets repetitive pretty quickly with some basic progression, but the fights are well drown, but almost all the same. That would be okay If this wasnt a supernatural story about weird supernatural creatures. There is almost no diversity of abilities, or the design to the anothers. 
Since this was the first season I can imagine why thi is, but the overall plot wasnt that interesting for me to go read the second season, maybe later If I hear some praise for it.
