Haikyuu!! To the Top

Apr 9, 2020

Let's start with just one question, WHY THE HELL DID THEY DO THAT TO ASAHI!!

Oké but besides that question (cough cough) i was so disappointed this time I really expected something different because this season really lacked team spirit and amazing battles (matches) because their were only scenes with practice until episode 9. And at the end the match didn't even end!! That was so frustrating |( ̄3 ̄)| but overall this season really disappointed me and I really hope the season after this doesn't I'm a big haikyuu van after all ( ✌︎'ω')✌︎

7/10 story
6/10 animation
10/10 sound
8/10 characters
7/10 overall

I AGREE WITH YOUR OPINION ON ASAHI and I think it was so jarring for me because in the last season (Season 3), the very last bit of the episode showed Asahi with his hairband hairstyle. Then all of a sudden, episode 1 on Season 4.1 starts and he suddenly has his old pulled-up bun. And then the slight change of artstyle also threw me off a bit. At first, I thought I was just imagining it, but as I kept watching, I was sure that it was different, if only a little bit. It took some time, but now I'm more used to it, both Asahi and the artstyle.

However, I also agree with Bustemist in that the reason why there weren't many "cool" matches is because they took time to show the growth of their characters. I am one of those people who were very excited and pumped to see people's reactions to what Hinata (specifically) learned from his observations as a ball boy. I think you might have enjoyed it better if Production I.G. hadn't split this into 2 parts.

I just searched up 'Haikyuu S4 Art', at first I thought "the art style didn't change that much".  BUT THEN I SAW ASASHI.  YOU ARE RIGHT- WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM THO :0

I agree that Asahi has changed and not for the better (visual wise). However, I think this season actually focused a lot on team-spirit and personal development which is why there were not a lot of matches. I think that's really important for character development and for personal attachment to the characters. I also think that it was a strong build-up to the actual matches at nationals; there was hype for new improvements from Hinata and Kageyama especially, can't wait for them to wow everyone in nationals with their awesomeness.

Lastly, I wanted to mention that the reason the match didn't end was because this is Part 1 of 2 of the 4th season. The next part is coming out soon so if you're looking for cool and exciting matches, be sure to look out for that.
