I plunged into the anime series when I started watching Full Metal Panic in English in September 2008 because some of my friends kept talking about anime series and I just could not resist. Now I am hopelessly a slave of this eternally, fantastically abundant world.

I usually am seducted by fantasy and/or shoujo animes, and they get priority if there are bishounen among the characters. Because of this I devour yaois, too, I just can't help it. But lately I have developped a fascination towards animes that reflect the Japanese beliefs, superstitions, motifs of their original stories eg. XXXholic, Kamisama Hajimemashita, Natsume Yuujinchou, Fushigi Yuugi or the Twelve Kingdoms, Shounen Onmyouji, and samuarai stories like Hakuouki.

Sometimes I choose my anime because a favourite seiyuu plays in it, so I try to watch everything that stars Akira Ishida or Hikaru Midorikawa. I came to love Akira  Ishida because of his grand speech in Uragiri, but he performs better in Crono. I have always always always loved the voice of Hikaru Midorikawa, especially in Saiunkoku Monogatari.

Qua plot I value stories with a strong character lead who develops during the series (Attack on Titan, Legend of Basara, Skip beat!) hopefully with equally strong female leads (like in Sacred Blacksmith, Fruits Basket). I think there a very few animes that have a strong plot with twists, but I respect the dynamic nature of Death Note, Code Geass or Vampire Knight.

If you know or have a favourite anime that has a strong character lead or scheming or magic, let me know!

Magi is really nice in my opinion. It has good world building, jokes, great characters and one of the strongest female leads I have seen in Shounen. The anime has nice visuals and a soundtrack which simply is fitting. It doesn't hurt that Alibaba (and others as well) actually has character development and isn't just a stand-in for an amazing battle warrior like Naruto. And if that wouldn't be enough to sway one's opinion there are also a great many deal of bishounen running around.

Bye, bye!

First of all, thank you for the blog comment. I think you make excellent points that I wish I would have thought of while I was writing it.

Shuurei is one of my favorite female characters because she is an actual character. And I would say her strong will could be considered a flaw since several characters accuse her of being bossy. But she is also so much more than her flaws, which is what makes her interesting. I love her so much! lol

And I think you make excellent points concerning Tohru. I've watched Fruits Basket here recently and I think Tohru is a very complex character. She's just more subtle than characters like Shuurei. So, I may have to go back and edit that part now since I've changed my mind.

Én nem ezt a rendszert használom a nyomon követésre.

Itt (http://www.mangaupdates.com/releases.html) minden fent van, és nagyon jó oldal. Regisztáció könnyű volt kb. 4 éve. :)
