I don't understand ANY OF your reviews.  Why watch shitty anime and CONTINUE to watch it and then give it a bad rating if you knew it was shit in the first place lol. Doesn't make sense

I don't like any of the animes you reviewed but it makes no sense what so ever Lol

Hello!  sothis is redesigning the anime-planet site, and plans to roll out an awesome new site design in July, we believe. The blog feature is not part of the new design, and it is going away.  More information about this here:  Announcement: the blog feature is being deprecated topic link.  (Be sure to check out the new site design when it goes live!)

\r\n

The blog pages are going away, and will be gone when the site redesign goes live. Your blog here will be removed from the site.

\r\n

So, if want to keep the information posted in your blog, you will need to copy this information someplace else on the site. If you have any questions how or where to do this, please feel free to get back to me, and I will try to assist.

Hi. Your welcome.

Hmm that's a tricky one as I've seen a lot and it depends if your going for a romance or if your looking for something that is more of a comedy with some echiness/fanservice in it. Love Hina is kind of like a harem genre Anime as it has one guy who loves one girl except there are other girls who like him too and there are the odd bits of fanservice in it so something along the same lines but a bit more echi is To Love Ru as again you have one guy who loves a girl but another girl falls for him and before you know it his life is turned upside down! The same type of show as that is UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie as that has again a romantic feel going through however it's about a girl who turns into a child but still loves the man she saves. Tenchi Muyo is along the same lines too. Also check out Ah My Goddess! as that's like Love Hina and Chobits. Another one is Please Teacher. There literally is a load of harem genre Anime out there. There are some on my list so if your looking to follow that you will stumble upon them sooner or later. As for a show like Chobits that's a bit more tricky as yes it's romantic and has tints of fanservice (I mean look where her power on button was!! lol) It's hard to think of another show like it as there are ones that revolve around romance but don't have that echi feel to them.

You can't go by the DVD case. I too have done this many times thinking wow this going to be amazing and then end up dissapointed or sometimes if I'm lucky it delivers. The best thing to do is just pick it up and watch it without reading about it. As by doing that you get the full experience and judge the story for your self on it's own merits. If you don't know what to watch ask around or check reviews if your unsure whether you will like it or not. Otherwise just go for it! That's what I do.

After watching so much Anime I couldn't even to begin to give you a number one on that question! lol I love the music in Anime not just the opening and endings but the OST too and I'm always listening to Anime music every day. So sorry can't really answer that one! lol

As for the OVA message I found out it means Original Video Animation. So basically a one of special or an introduction to the show usually are OVA'S as they're not included in the main show. You usually get these as extras on a DVD or sometimes they don't even release them outside of Japan. For example K-ON! the OVA'S are called URA ON! but were never released outside of Japan so unfortuanatley the only way to see them is by watching them on the internet.

That's ok. :D

I found out what the others mean. To be honest I was wondering myself! I knew of some but others I asked my friends about.

San: This term is refering to someone who is older than you, so a lot of times your hear characters say san to someone who is there senior.

Senpai: This is kind of the same as 'san' expect it usually refers to an an upperclassman. As again the characters who say it are younger and see the other characters as a form of teacher.

Sama: This is used to refer to someone in very high regard such as God. You will never hear a character call their parents or siblings this.

That's ok. :) feel free to ask us and I'll try and help. Also soz for the late reply. (^-^)

Yes I guess so. I thought that Anime Planet has a messaging sysyem like personal messages but it dosen't look like it. So this should be fine.

You've quite aways to go then! lol Believe it or not I still have more to add to it as I have over 60 DVD'S that are in my backlog and I know some of them are fanservice/Harem type genre shows.

I had this problem too as there are a lot of different terms that arise as you get further and further into Anime.

Seinen: This means it's a show that has a demographic that is mainly for older men. So shows such as Yuyushiki, Oreimo are usually aimed at the more older viewer and usually it's men.

Shoujo: This term means a show that is aimed at youner girls usually aged between 13-18. Mainly they're some form of romance. Shows such as Fruits Basket, Ouran High School Host club were made mainly for younger girls. So that's were the term comes from.

Shounen/Shonen: This term originally meant shows that were aimed for boys only under the age of 18. However once Shonen Jump was released it's now refered to as in what type of shows they produce. Usually Shounen/Shonen is a show that has a main protaganist who is some form of hero. Shounen/Shonen shows are very long and some like One Piece are still ongoing. They have drawn out episodes for fights and always have a huge cast of characetrs. Shounen/Shonen shows include Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Dragon Ball.

Otaku: This is a tricky one as some countries that have Anime fans like to refer to themselves as 'otaku' they see it as a cool thing. However in Japan the word 'otaku' is frowned upon as it means generally geeky and obsessed with something. So a typical otaku would be hugely into Anime/Manga have loads of merchandise I.E. figures, posters, wallscrolls anything to do with the genre they can lay there hands on. Also under the term 'otaku' people who are one don't go out and are generally shut ins as again it's frowned upon in Japan. I like being called otaku as I find it's generally a cool thing over here in the UK but some countries don't like it.

There are other terms you may hear such as:

Tsundere: This is a female character who is usually shy but actually acts mad and upset when she's around a charcter she has feelings for. Two shows that I know of that have these are Oreimo (Kirino Kousaka), Mayo Chiki (Konoe Subaru). Your see a lot of characters like this especially if you watch a harem genre show. Just incase you don't know harem genre is a show that has one guy that is surrounded by girls who like him. Shows like this are Tenchi Muyo, Sekirei, UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie, To Love Ru to name but a few. Of course there is reverse harem aswell which is one girl surrounded by guys that love her.

Hope all this helps sorry it's so long. (^-^)
