Ok after re watching the OVA a third time I realized why so many people thought Akio lied to Makina, it's the scene after they talk about the dream and it shows the rest pf the recording on the MP3 where we hear the conversation of younger Makina and the doctor, this makes it look like protag boy just heard the recording and said what was already on it to Makina but I'll explain briefly why it wasn't that
1.As he was hearing the recording he fell asleep while hearing the song before it even got to the part of the girl and the doctor talking which means Akio was sleeping during the conversation and was unconsciously dreaming about it as it was playing on his sleep, this means that while it wasn't song on itself that made him have the dream but still it's no lie he has it, the last time he was conscious before falling asleep was when he was just listening to the song so that's what all he remembered hearing and thought it was all he heard until we get the scene where he goes back to it and see the song wasn't the only thing on the MP3, this is something he and we as the audience discover as new piece of information
2. Is obvious from the get go the main atmosphere and purpose of the show was a lighthearted and warm relationship between those two characters and not a story about a manipulative jackass that takes advantage of a girl, if it were going on that path the show would have made that clear for the viewer
looking now at this I get why so many people misinterpreted the protagonist and his actions cause this was indeed a mistake the creators of the show didn't realized could cause confusion to the public, this could be fixed if they decide to re make or make a new series based on this ova (really blunt it but I would really love it nevertheless) but at least I already know where people is coming from and I managed to explain why it wasn't like that, thank you for reading
By the way all the people saying he took advantage of the confusion to date Makina clrealy weren"t paying attention cause that is not what happened at all lmao
