UH.  Not much to say here.  I've watched a fair amount of anime.  My wife, bunnylovesanime, has watched MUCH more.  My hands down absolute favorite anime is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but Cowboy Bebop runs a near second, and I've got a weak spot for Azumanga Daioh or pretty much anything by Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away being my favorite of his works).  Mostly, I'm into shounen, but I steer pretty far clear of the low-end stuff like DMZ , Pokemon, or Gurren Lagann.  I like liberal amounts of action and humor, but am a well told story is a must.  I also tend to steer clear of the uber dark stuff, as I watch anime to escape, but there are occasional exceptions.

Um.  That is all for now.  Maybe more later.  :)

*edit*  I KNOW there are more older Anime's that I've watched (pre-1995 stuff), but it's been a WAY long time ago, and I just can't remember them well enough to add them my "watched" list.

Ahh your post storm parries my wall of text!

Oh right, I left out the gamers.  That's more or less what I was.  Some people have boxes and boxes of comic books.  I've got boxes and boxes of rule books from various RPGs.   Don't really play much anymore, though that's got more to do with not knowing any local gamers than anything else.

Yeah I've been warned about School Days. :P

Oh and I almost forgot.  Nauruto is another one I'll probably never watch.  There's entirely too much cognative dissonance involved in a bright orange jump suited perpetually shouting ninja.

I wouldn't recommend watching school days, by the way. There are a lot better, less disturbing shows, Kara no Kyoukai being one of them (ask bunny!).

Oh, and you are so right about the level of depth in the stories these days. Where I think anime was originally conceived as a kid's deal, a market has definitely developed for shows that have more mature themes. And I love it. Which is why it ruffles my feathers a bit when people say, "oh, anime is just kiddy cartoons."

Definitely have more to say tomorrow.

Let it be said that I love hanging out with the scifi group, and the guys who play DnD. Let it be said that, at least on my campus, anime is still a part of the sci-fi group. We generally have anime-viewing once a week on saturdays where the viewing ranges from classics like Akira to modern shows like High School of the Dead.

Ah, a spirited response. I'll be sure to write in full tomorrow. Right now I'm getting bogged down with stuff from other people though (I just passed the 200 page mark after only being on her for a few months! AH!)
