Some Spoilers Ensue:

Alright, let's be real...this shit was good. During the anime's short season, I was so into it and I was loving the mystery and the premise was beyond cool. For real, you guys, I loved this a lot...up until the last few episodes. For one, I picked the killer, for two, I was pissed at the overall resolve. I hate and I mean HATE when a show is soooo good, and then fucks itself at the end with a cheap ending. I can even let go of the fact that I knew who the killer was if they would have just done a proper job with the showdown between the characters at the end...BAD FORM. Rant end.

Story:

As I stated, the story is what pulled me in. I love time travel sci-fi shit and this had that, along with suspense, murder, and gore. If I could check the boxes of things I want in my shows, those would always be checked. I watched this show while it was airing and I couldn't wait for the episodes to come out each week which is the reason why I will say it was a good show. Everything from episode one's horrifying death, to the premise of children being murdered and our protagonist having to save them, to the cool back and forth between his former self, and his present day self...all of that was awesome and I was totally addicted. It just seems like when the reveal came (which was also awesome even though I saw it coming a mile away), the writer(s) were lost as to how to resolve everything and it turned into a lazy melodrama.

Animation:

I can't fault the show here. The animation was gorgeous and I really loved how the characters and settings were drawn. The past set mostly in the wintertime made for a creepier atmosphere and set the stage for the premise of the show. This was a huge plus.

Sound:

This was also a plus. Both the OP and ED themes were amazing. I especially loved the OP animation that went with the song. The voice acting was amazing as well. Beautiful character reactions.

Characters:

We got a pretty good deal of character development for such a short series. I cared about Satoru and Kayo so much. Surprisingly, even Airi was well developed and I was happy she got some time in the middle of the show since at the beginning, I thought we would only get her briefly. Kenya was also a favorite and I loved his chats with Satoru about superheroes. He was wise and cool.

Overall:

While I give the show shit for the not-so-great ending, really, during the show I was hooked so that tells you something. I would say it's definitely worth a watch and definitely entertaining though you may feel a bit let down after you are finished.
