Thanks for your submission to the character database, however it had to be denied. Descriptions must be totally hand written, not stolen from other sites. Pictures must be a specific size and must be taken from the show (not official artwork). You also forgot two very important fields, so we couldn't add the character at all. I have to agree with you, but at the same time disagree. If we view the first-kiss with Masa from the sidelines and not from the romantical view, it is purely meant to put more filling into the turkey so to speak. Running a purely comedical storyline is hard to begin with, constantly having to keep jokes, parody and overall episode's story structure is demanding and most likely creatively exhausting. The first-kiss scenes where both the mom and Nagasumi go all lovey-dovey is maybe to fill in those occasional impulsive jokes. As you have noticed there wasn't much underlining of the first-kiss fact from any of the main characters.
Additionally Masa is a platonic airhead in terms of speaking the understanding of love. :)
I had to pinch myself a few times before I actually understood what the authors wanted with those scenes. Try and review the structure of each of those episodes where the kiss scenes appear and you will see that they are mostly placed in the ones with least meat on the bones.
