Little Little

Apr 18, 2010

This was one of those titles rarely made or even attempted by artists. There was next to no dialog at all and so the creator used typical expressions and situations to convey the characters emotions and reactions.Story:There wasn't a whole lot to it, each chapter was only a few pages long and at 8 chapters with no dialog the story was there but might as well have been a thin veil covering the title as a whole. Cute and charming was pretty much how it went.Art:I was impressed here not due to how detailed or scenic the artwork was, which was still pretty nice, but it was mainly how the mangaka told the story... Metro Survive

Oct 17, 2009

Story:This had a great story line, I was rivited from chapter to chapter wondering what was going to happen next. Each time something happened, whether or not I saw it coming, I felt for the characters.Art:The art was just a bit above average, but the main thing that got it to that point was the fact that the characters had a definite and distinct style difference from one another. There weren't 10 different bishi androginous characters floating around that if you just swapped hairstyles you'd be unable to tell them appart.Characters:Each of the main characters has a lot of unique and obvious personality... Wild Act

Oct 3, 2009

Story: The story wasn't anything uber special but it was very captivating, I really wanted to know how it ended, and enjoyed the whole process to that ending. I really got behind the main characters and their plight, it was a tad predictable at times but nothing so bad as to ruin my enjoyment of it.Artwork:
Illustrations were well done, varied, and expressive. My only gripe were how some of the characters kind of looked a bit too similar. Kind of your typical bishi-cookie cutter face with the variable hair color/style. Though this time the mangaka has a good excuse which I won't go into... See full review

Desert Storm

The stories each had a common thread, a boy with supernatural abilities or circumstances and the woman that falls for him. Each story had it's own setting and varried in degree's of skill. I enjoyed the 2nd story, The Garden of Wild Roses, the most but the 3rd story, Sunset Encounter, was not far off. The title story wasn't bad at all, it just lacked somethings that the second two stories did not. They are each only one-shots afterall so it's not like I could expect much from them in the first place, but as far as a compilation goes, this one wasn't half bad.

Zero: The Beginning of The Coffin

Nov 19, 2009

I'm giving you a fair warning now because I try very hard not to do it in my reviews, but this one contains spoilers. You have been fairly warned.Story:There was a lot to this story that could have been great, but it really just puttered up to mediocre. I wasn't impressed at the use of sudden deaths and random physical and mental abuse by various characters. Though it was only alluded to, there seemed to also be a few rape victims and almost blatant incest. All of the above are serious no-no's when it comes to me enjoying a story of any kind. Honestly, I should have put it down when I read in the first... See full review
