If you are searching for play or die games/high stakes game with very smart, diverse and complicated games then Tower of God 1 and Alice in Wonderland are the manga for you. Both manga have a great story filled with lots of these games.

Alice in Wonderland is a dark story, full of despair.Tower of God is lighter with more action and adventure trips.

Both mangas' plot revolve around high-stake-games or death-games where the characters/players have to compete in dangerous "games" in order to move forward. In Alice in Borderlands the threat of dying is what makes these people compete, and in Tower of God it's the chance of getting anything they want that drive them forward.

I feel like the authors of both of these mangas were very creative when coming up with the different games. They are all very intricate and intense.

Gantz

Gantz

Kei, a cynical and arrogant high school student, has minimal regard for others; so it's much to his surprise that when he's asked by his elementary school friend Kato to save a drunken bum laying on the subway tracks, he actually complies. However, no good deed goes unpunished, and they are swiftly decapitated by the oncoming train. Kei and Kato awaken in a nondescript room occupied by a black sphere and a variety of other people, and thus begins Gantz's game. In it, the players must face off against aliens in battles where death is inevitable and rewards are minimal. Unfortunately for them, this is just the beginning of their nightmare - at least, for those who manage to survive...

Gantz and Imawa no Kuni no Alice are both series about people who are thrown in a survival game, and have to play the game to survive. Both have a strange "higher power", which decides the level of the game and the prize for success. Failing is also not the best idea in either of the stories. If you like one, you may like the other as well.
