Ever since Tomoki was a boy, he’s dreamed that the girl he loves vanishes into the sky. However, while he’s convinced it’s just a dream, his classmate Sugata is convinced that it’s related to an alleged ‘new continent’ that’s floating around the planet. According to Sugata’s calculations it’s set to pass above their town at midnight, and sends Tomoki to check it out. Little did Tomoki know that at that moment, a scantily-clad angel would fall from the sky! Calling herself a pet-class Angeloid named Ikaros, she promises to fulfill Tomoki’s every wish. Now, Tomoki is able to manipulate panties and do equally as perverted things with ease; but what is Ikaros really here for, and are her motives as pure as they seem?
A young woman quietly falls to the earth, escorted by a solitary crow. This sort of dream, as many other before have dreamed, comes just before being reborn as a Haibane, a charcoal-winged angel. On the outskirts of the walled-in city lies Old Home, a haven for Haibane to study, live, and learn, while waiting for their chance to ascend to the heavens and escape the confines of their new world. Rakka is the newest inhabitant of Old Home who wants nothing more than to remember her past and discover the secrets of her kind. Together with Reki, Kuu and plenty of other new friends, Rakka will laugh, explore, and search for the meaning of their existence in the process.
Other than maybe a little of the melancholy of SnO, the stories are completely different, but, if you want another show that focuses around mysterious girls with wings, then Haibane Renmei would be a good show to try.
The timid, virginal Kouta is a new student at Kunpo High School; and while others in his situation might be a wallflower forever, Kouta has no such luck – he has attracted the attention of the busty Chizuru, who happens to be a fox deity! However, Kouta’s misfortunes don’t stop there; he’s also pursued by Nozomu, a wolf deity. Between being molested, propositioned, having his face shoved between mammoth breasts or witnessing endless panty shots, Kouta must also attempt to maintain his studies – even though all Chizuru and Nozomu want is to be the one to deflower him first!
Both these titles are wrapped up in Ecchi and humour. Although Kanokon is more 'tame' than Sora no Otoshimono both are somewhat of a fantasy/sci-fi type romances. They both show different sides of their story, with Sora no Otoshimono having an aggressive (trying to get girls) protagonist and Kanokon having the passive (trying to be won over) protagonist.
Kaede is a devoted high school student who lives with her adopted brother Rin. She holds a quiet confidence that one day, when Rin finally starts showing interest in sex, he will make the obvious choice and turn to his loving sister. But what Kaede wasn’t counting on was the lords of heaven and hell coming to Earth, wanting Rin to mate with their nubile daughters! Rin, like any teenager would, takes full advantage of his newly acquired harem; but how long can he keep up his carefree, boxed-lunches-on-the-rooftop lifestyle, as the horde of girls on his tail grows?
Both series start off being the usual plot lines, then make a rapid swing to a darker theme and secrets start being revealed on origins.
While trying to protect a wooden relic, high school student Yuuri Mito summons the Goddess Kikuramikami no Hime in the form of a sweet, affectionate child; she begins to live with him, taking the name Mashiro. Yuuri promises to marry her when she grows up, which unfortunately for him happens overnight! However, they soon have bigger things to worry about, as the relic is accidentally destroyed, unleashing the Tayutai, a human-hating race of monsters. Along with Yuuri's childhood friend Ameri, his step-sister Yumina and Mifuyu - an honour student at Flawless Girls' Academy - Yuuri and Mashiro must step up to fight the Tayutai, protect the world, and even learn about underwear!
Both of these series have a random girl with super powers show up out of nowhere and are willing to do almost anything for a random guy, making their childhood friend jealous. If you like one of these supernatural/ecchi series, you'll likely enjoy the other.
