Is this supposed to be good anime?

It got a fairly high rating so I wanted to watch it.  it immediate grabs your attention with how unique it is, in that they say and do outrageous and sexual things.  The story seems goofy due to this, but there is actually a very serious underlying tone of "we are fighting a war against a utopian and oppressive society".

lets get serious though.  Is this what we want our anime to be?  Do we want anime like this to be the model for other anime?  If this is the best that this type of anime can do, then what can we expect in the future?  More terribly scripted harems?  More ruined romance? (though this anime had a good romance brewing, which we will never see through -.-)

Being dirty is fine, and I understand that our generation is all about opening up to this stuff more and more.  However, this is not good anime.  They took a serious story and turned it into filler ridden fan service.  The story was there, but it couldnt take anything seriously (even worse than Akame ga Kill).

If you try to tell me, "Sentinel, you gave Kill la Kill a 10/10", I will tell you, "yes, because Kill la Kill was a beautifly architected STORY that saw itself through to the end and used dirtiness as a plot device rather than for the sake of pure fan service".  Kill la kill took itself SERIOUSLY, this anime did not.  It was clearly puffed up and faked, it was clearly corny.  Every time something dirty was throw in, it was an attempt to make me unzip my drawers.

Like I said, I dont mind this kind of stuff.  It can be used well.  However this is not what I want in an anime.  I want the Phyco Pass's, I want Ghost in the Shell and Fullmetal Brotherhood.  I want the Eureka 7 and Kill la Kills and SAO's.  Not this, which tried to grab my attention with outrageousness and the doesnt deliver a satisfying story.

so there you have it, my opinion plain and simple

Story:  had a good underlying concept, that thats all.  After that point, they filled it with fillers and fan service.  The romance that was brewing, I would be suprised if it turns out.

Animation:  decent animation but nothing to special.

Sound:  They customized the music to this anime pretty well.  However I didnt feel like it was that epic music that is ushering the story of the century.  The music matched the level of this anime, which is to say that this anime is not destined for greatness.

Characters:  The characters were all funny and different, but I personally feel like the story affected my view on the characters.  They seemed faked for the sake of fan service.  I felt like I wouldnt ever see them in a truly awesome light.

Overall:  its ok, but dont rush home and skip out on life to see this anime.  Its not that great.

5/10 story
7/10 animation
7/10 sound
5/10 characters
6/10 overall

yare yare... we get your point. Just don't say a general presumption that the anime isn't that worth that much that we can't slack anything for it. We have different lenses; for you to cohesively state these facts- points out you are a smart little wimp. But take in heart, we see differently. Some people can appreciate those things which you'll categorize as just 'this'. Just don't give off a preconceive notion of what the anime  is. Don't spoil it, in an indifferent manner without getting in the shoes of others. Well, you know mate, you have already inadvertently spoiled all of those who read this. Smh, online peeps nowadays.
