Amusingly, you caught me literally a couple minutes after I bumped it up to a 4 :P
My ratings scheme is sort of an ever-changing beast... I've tried defining it a few different ways over the past couple months, and have been at it again tonight -.-' But, even though the descriptions in my head change, usually less than 5% of the actual ratings shift. (though that in part is due to having to round off here when I use a half-tenths system personally) At some point I need to post some kind of description on my profile.
Anyway, as for Madlax specifically, I can't help but acknowledge that it isn't without flaws, but it's still a favorite of mine nonetheless. I have a soft spot for multi-faceted conflicts (i.e. not just good guys and bad guys, but multiple parties pursuing a variety of ends) and Madlax has that in spades. Plus of course one of Yuki Kajiura's best soundtracks ^_^
well, the one that comes closest to the awesomeness of Strawberry Panic is Maria-sama ga Miteru, but i saw on your list you watched that already. I love that one aswell.
hmm other than that i'm not really sure, there doesn't seem to be too much shoujo-ai anime around. How about you, got any recommendations for me?

Yes, Shoujo sect only has 3 episodes but believe me the manga is waaaayy better! The animation in Shoujo Sect just left a lot to desire at some parts!
I still haven't read Sasameki Koto but I might start now... I was sleepy a while ago but ccouldn't sleep and now I'm wide awake (>_>)
