Onani Master Kurosawa

Masturbation as a form of social action?  It's a promising premise.  Certainly original. (Not to mention every adolescent boys wet dream.)

The problem here is execution, and it is aproblem from the outset.  The most immediately striking feature of this manga is the artwork: it's terrible.  It looks supisciously like the sketches of an art school student, so much so that I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that this is where this piece originated (particularly given the premise).  It is not just unimpressive; it is distractingly bad.

The characters are equally amatuerish.  They lack depth, dimensionality.  Every time there is an opportunity to develop them, the protagonist makes a cynical, dismissive remark that comes across perpetually as authorial laziness.

The story is only marginally better and by far the greatest disappointment, given the myriad direction the premise could have taken with a better mind at the helm.  There is no tension or development.  There isn't even really any dialogue.  Most pages are populated entirely with bad art and the main characters pseudo-philosophical musings on life.  It borders on unbearable, and the only thing that propelled me along in this story is the hope that eventually the narrative would begin to live up to its promise.  It did not.

As a connoisseur of manga that play with deviant themes, this one disappointed on every level.  Maybe if it had been allowed to become something more than a series of cheapshots at Death Note, it might have become something worth reading.

3/10 story
1/10 art
2/10 characters
2/10 overall

You can't miss it (unless you stopped after the first 2-3 chapters)—the entire manga thrives on character development. So, to parade around as a "manga connoisseur" and dish out such a trashy review is nothing but dishonest.

It kind of looks to me like you haven't read the whole manga. Especially when you say that there's no character development at all. The latter half of the story is entirely dedicated to Kurosawa rethinking his way of life. And if you had actually read it in its entirety, you'd see that it's definitely more than just a cheap parody of Death Note.
