Seeking a cure for his depraved masochism, Taro Sado approaches the Second Volunteer Club on the recommendation of his best friend, Tatsukichi. There he finds the help of the violent but kind Mio Isurugi who promises to beat the masochism out of him by any means necessary. Will Taro be able to survive the assaults of this upperclassman, the overly-affectionate attentions of his mother and sister, and still lead a normal school life? Unlikely. But will he get over his perverse fetish? He sure hopes so.
Comedic violence meets hilarious dialogue, always a great combination for your laughing needs. And both of them contain a dosage of seriousness, not to overshadow the comedy of course. Throw in some fanatic cults, mind-numbing situations and craziness and you get an end result of either one of them.
Ouran High is a school for the extremely wealthy or, in Haruhi's case, the extremely talented. But no amount of talent will help when Haruhi accidentally drops an eight million yen vase in a music room. The vase was the property of Ouran High School Host Club, a group of attractive young men who, for a fee, provide their time and affections for their lovesick clientele: the female students. Fascinated by this strange new specimen, a poor and clumsy commoner, they force Haruhi to work for them until the debt is repaid; but they get a lot more than they bargained for...
They are similar in setting and comedic style. They also have a similar feel to oneanother. I am not sure how else to explain it so I guess You'll just have to take my word for it. Or not... Though you'll really miss out if you don't.
In a world where everyone connects to an online network, pudgy Haruyuki Arita can't seem to catch a break. Constantly bullied, afraid to face reality and paranoid his two childhood friends pity him, the teenager uses online games as a way to escape his problems. But things change one day when Haruyuki's beautiful upperclassman Kuroyukihime approaches him with a mysterious time-decelerating program known as Brain Burst - there‘s just one catch. To keep the ability, he must defeat other Brain Burst wielders in Accel World, an exclusive, virtual MMORPG, and the newbie player will need all the help he can get. Eager to prove he's not a pathetic weakling, Haruyuki joins forces with Kuroyukihime to challenge fierce competitors and discover just how incredible Accel World and he truly are.
If you enjoyed Accel World, you'd likely enjoy Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu 2. Like the first series of Baka to Test to, these anime are both based much within a school environment and school life, contain strong elements of 'transformation' into avatars for the sake of battle within a virtual environment, and also contain very similar notes of mismatched love interests and competing females. Both of these series contain a sense of trial and achievement - one with a slightly more contextually serious undertone, and the other with a more comedic one - however both are main drivers in character and plot development throughout each series.
I recommend these both ways, as the common elements are fresh and distinct enough for both to be appealing to either audience.
A humorous and action-packed story about a class of misfits who are trying to kill their new teacher – an alien octopus with bizarre powers and super strength! The teacher has just destroyed the moon and is threatening to destroy the earth – unless his students can destroy him first. What makes things more complicated is that he's the best teacher they've ever had!
Both shows have the central theme of the underdog class in a school with implicit (and explicit) idiots being asked to perform enormous feats. Whereas in Ansatsu Kyoushitsu this means saving the world, in Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu it is more for personal betterment.
Furthermore, while both shows have its main focus on comedy, the also contain some serious arcs (in Ansatsu Kyoushitsu more in the form of action and psychological, where in Baka to Test it is more drama and light romance)
